My guild is pretty much geared and ready to go. According to Guilds of WoW audit, our level 80s have an average ilvl of 566 and the top 20 have an average of i584. Our best geared raiders are like i589. There is nothing in terms of power progression for us this week. Heroics offer zero meaningful upgrades, delves are still capped at +3, no raids, world quests are awarding i571 gear at the highest.
Outside of using a spark to craft a piece, we’re looking at an entire week stretch with no way to move the needle on our characters.
I understand that Blizzard wants the Season to start on September 10th. But why include M0 in that? Why not just raids, rated PvP and Mythic+? If you had released M0 today, September 3rd, we would have a week of “world tours” to work on. As it stands, we honestly don’t know why we’re going to log in this week.
We’re re-installing other games for the week, I guess? See you on the 10th?
Edit:
Players will have to wait until September 17th, 2024, to access the new Mythic+ dungeons.
Well, have you done all the side quests? Tried your hand at professions or gathering? Maybe tried some role play or leveling an alt that’s a different class? There is always tons of stuff to do in WoW.
One thing I tried recently was writing my own addon. It was very simple and I got a lot of help from the people in the UI forum but it was really interesting seeing what addons were all about and how they were done.
I think I can safely say that for a sizeable contingent of the player-base, WoW is about power progression.
On a personal level, yes, I have two i580+ characters with capped gathering professions, soujourners done for all zones, the glyph mount done etc. I’ve completed the current content. I cannot say the same for my guildmates, but they’re much more interested in progressing their characters than pet battle daily quests so I can’t say they care whether they’ve done every side quest or not. Probably not.
Just feels like sort of a “dead week”.
Would releasing M0 this week have absolutely gutted the casuals who are still leveling and gearing up?
Yes this all of that. 585 Myself, all spec geared, got all honor set.
Yeah leveling armies of character is not fun to many players. Most people play them and often they ain’t geared enough but people stay quiet and cheer up their alts because they want to bring back their main that actually matters to their group. Here’s the harsh truth.
Sir/ma’am…You would’ve had 1 day of world tours as M0 have a week lock out… so you’d still be here complaining that Season 1 isn’t here yet after a day of M0’s.
Well, when you have millions of players there is a sizable contingent doing just about anything. However from what we hear, it’s a minority of players that concentrate on high level end game content only.
Yeah the release schedule is too slow. I’m starting to look at playing another game. People who play wow generally focus on wow. If I lose interest, I’m just not going to continue the sub. They’re time gating this way too much. Already logging in, standing there, realizing there’s nothing to do, then logging out. This is how it starts for me when I quit the game. Next time I play is the next expansion release.
That’s the point I’m at. Just logging for a quick glance on WQ and going play something else. Good thing Age of Mythology retold coming out because this time gated stuff to make casuals and fluff players included is killing the launch hype.
Try writing an addon. As I mentioned above I tried it with help from the people in the UI form. It’s really interesting to see what addons are all about and how they work.
I mean…who cares though? like if some one wants to no life the game, let them, dont hold everyone else back for it.
There are always going to be a group of people who will rush into the game, and do everything as fast as humanly possible then complain about it. Thats just the nature of the beast.
But they’re all deep 2025 releases. I just need something for THIS week. I did just get the DMC HD collection on Steam for like $5. Might have a nostalgia trip.
As the majority of players voted the only content people want to do in wow i M+. They need to focus all resources/dev on the seasons and scrap all that other non essential and ignored content no one does.
Last reply I’ll do on the topic as I don’t wish to derail this too much.
But yes, I found out during the Summer when S4 was somewhat dead because Blizzard decided to split the player base with MOP remix and all their classic release and pre patch around the corner making people starting break early.
Age of Empires 2 on steam got like 20-25k players daily, doing a game 1v1 or 4v4 take about only 1-4 minute queue and each game is always different, you always deal with situations in different ways. Keeps thing interesting, I’m not a pro by all means but RTS definitely makes you work to win and that’s something I can respect.
It’s how I found they were remaking Age of Mythology and I never played that so I told myself, why not.
