The timer is the main reason groups fall apart. PUGs will frequently fall apart after just 1 wipe.
WHAT IF… Every time you kill a boss, you add 120(?) seconds to the dungeon timer. I think this would definitely help pug groups from falling apart after wiping just once.
or just remove the M+ timer all together =)

They’d just end up tuning the timer around the assumption that you would be getting and extra two minutes per boss, so it wouldn’t change anything.

Well, the assumption would be that they wouldn’t tune the timers around this.
And you trust blizzard to make that decision?

They need to decide if it’s a survival game or a time trial. It being both doesn’t work. IDC which one they pick.

Is it?
I thought it was because players couldn’t do the content.
People are able to do the content but if someone messes up 1 mechanic during a 3 minute Tyrannical boss fight and the group wipes, then the key dies.

Given the number of keys I’ve done where the group has failed to complete the dungeon, I think you’re being overly optimistic.
But even if you are correct, could the group not just try again?
Completing a key still rewards gear and counts towards the Vault.
Right, the gear is the same, but people are still saying “Rip key, gg” and leave the group, particularly in +9s because you don’t get full crests.
The timer is the only way to punish mistakes and dps check players. The timer is fine but the triple time loss on death affix and the +10 affix has got to go.

Dungeon would be tuned to be harder as a result.
“make everything easier” is definitely a suggestion.
But at some point you have to draw a line.

They need to scrap this entire mythic+ season and start over.
This’ll go down as the worst season of all time
If it’s bad enough to bail, then it’s bad enough an extra 2 minutes on the clock will not matter.
From my experience this season, the group could complete the dungeon but group disbands after someone makes a single mistake that wiped the run.
Then don’t make that mistake.
I don’t see disbands after something like missing an important interrupt because everyone’s is on cd. Blundering into extra packs, nobody bothering to even try to interrupt an AOE fear, or dying to the most basic ground swirly when nothing else is happening is 100% leave group time. It’s gonna keep happening if that goes down in the first 5 minutes, that is Leave Group time.
I no longer condone 1 or 2 people in the group sighing and doing all the work just because they want to get it done. People who cannot grasp mechanics and have to be HARD carried through every piece of content deserve to have nonstop abandoned keys.
It’s not like a missed Web Bolt cast is causing massive numbers of quitters.
Funny, I remember people saying that in SL Season 1, and 1 or 2 of the BfA seasons.
People will complain because it’s the fun thing to do. The season just needs more tuning, but that’s not new and happens every season.

I put my +10 AK key up the other night to the mercy of pugs.
We had a rough start and people were immediately demoralized but we said we could go for completion.
We timed it and everyone but the tank memed about it being a doomed key as the one guildy I brought with me got their Sacbrood and most of us got our portal.
If damage is good and pulls are clean, one wipe or a few early deaths won’t end an entire key.
