Issue: Players are interested in competitive dungeon content but have limited opportunities or barriers preventing them from playing. Examples include:
Time restrictions due to their peronsal life.
Lack rating and/or ilvl.
Don’t fill a specific group need (lust for example).
Have reservations to assemble their own group (key depletion).
Are solo players or part of a guild that doesn’t have a high M+ participation.
Suggestion: Introduce a system that allows people to queue and get randomly assigned a group in a M+ environment.
How it would help: Allows players to gain M+ experience, build rating, increase ilvl, gain valor, and semi push M+ content on their own schedule.
How it would work:
There are no keys to be gained or lost. Instead, players would be assigned to a random M+ group based on a rating bracket. As player rating increases, they will progress on to the next bracket of difficulty while the system progressively introduces the appropriate dungeon affix(es) for that week.
Group make up would consist of the following: Tank, Healer, Lust Class (if attribute doesn’t exist with healer), 2 or 3 DPS.
Loot ilvl, valor and vault rewards would be less than the organized LFG content
What to do about Group Disbands/Deserters:
Players that desert the dungeon prior to the timer will receive a debuff not allowing them to use the feature for 4 hours and incur a significant decrease in rating.
First without very strict selection settings within the queue system you end up with multiple synergy issues:
lacking proper number of interrupts
lacking cc
random class stacking
buff synergy (prot warrior with 3 caster dps)
missing lust
And if you make the system differentiate between players for correcting the above issues it would then begin to favor specific classes (future forum outrage to certainly be included). Making a system such as this will hard wall players at certain key levels because of potential comp issues.
It just seems like we’d see the same complaints for different reasons too. And there will also be a massive wave of players complaining they’re still stuck at X rating because turns out they weren’t as good as they believed themselves to be.
For the most part, you’ve got a good idea there. However, Lust is probably the worst idea blizzard has had. Reasoning: one doesnt even have to b semi decent to get into grp. as long as they can lust they’re in. i dont know if y’all know this or not, but us Leather Workers makes drums like crazy. Seriously i’ve probably got close to 30 stacks of drums in my GB. so the whole lust crap is just that, crap. And with drums, ur shammy can focus on healing rather than trying to b #1 in deeps and healz. imo just bc one can do deeps and healing doesn’t mean they should. I.E. Shammy’s used to b one of the most preferred OT, back when only Horde could play as shaman’s and only Ally could play as a pally’s… jeesh i feel old now.
But overall, you’ve got a fairly well thought out idea for the game. It would b interesting to c blizz run with it. With that being said, Blizz also has a habbit of not caring about their player base. There’s a reason y WoW’s player base is fading. Much like most of Blizz’s games. it sucks, but its facts.
Appreciate the comments. The hard cap and player rating complaints are going to be there as I don’t think you’re ever going to please everyone. The hard cap on key levels… maybe. You’d probably should be using the organized lfg and/or guild group if you’re really trying to push but who knows, nothing surprises me with this game and how crazy skilled some people are.
I appreciate the feedback to the thread. Let’s make it clear, I not lobbying to have the LFG/organized content to be removed. If it works for you, have at it. Keep pushing them keys. Nothing but love for ya.
My suggestion is more so for players that want to do M+ but have barriers to entry (personal and/or game related). Or maybe they would just prefer to queue rather than having to apply to a group.
