M+ rewards need to be changed

As a raider that hates M+, I think it is horrible that keys are almost forced upon you for either BIS gear or crests. I also think there needs to be an equalization of how many rewards/loot per week a person can get per toon either through keys or raiding. Raiding you are available to kill a boss once per week for a chance at loot however with keys you can run dungeons everyday for loot and crests over and over again without penalty. Either raiding lockouts/boss drops need to be changed or a weekly cap from keys or how keys give loot needs to be changed because M+ is out gearing and accumulating gear/crests far more and at a faster rate then raiding.

I have no sympathy for the BIS is not in my preferred mode complaint; that’s standard Blizz modus operandi. They put my best M+ trinkets behind PvP back in Legion and while now there’s less attempts at “PvP cross-pollination with PvE” there’s still one of my best M+ trinkets coming from Raid. I just don’t see them changing their mindset to make “Raid drops are best for Raid and M+ drops are best for M+ always without question.”

It’s the same issue with item-level. Ion once said “we don’t want you to have to sim every item you get… if it’s higher ilvl you should just be able to equip it.” Yet we still have to sim stuff because interactions with existing gear might make a higher ilvl drop an actual down-grade in throughput, or weird procs on a trinket (or other item) simply outweigh the stats from higher ilvl. Hasn’t ever changed despite the Game Director’s desire to make it simpler for us.


On the topic of uncapped crests in M+ (it is capped by how much time you have to play) vs capped crests in Raid, that seems like a fair point disparity. I guess Blizz considers this balanced because Gilded Crests can only go so far on Heroic items and to acquire Mythic items at any kind of reasonable rate, you have to do Mythic raid, while M+ players can only get one piece per week from the Vault (even if they pushed +15 keys, the end-of-run drop is always stuck at Heroic).

Subsequently, while I can see changes to make it feel like M+ is optional for raiders (and vice-versa), I just don’t see it happening with Blizzard’s “cross-pollination” mindset still in play. They want us to play different game modes, so I think it’s unlikely they would make “Raid drops exclusively best for Raid and M+ drops exclusively best for M+” and/or modify the crest system so that crests from M+ only work on M+ drops and crests from Raid only work on Raid drops (you’d still whine that M+ crest are uncapped even though you can get Mythic items on each boss from Raid unless M+ gear dropped like -10 ilvls when stepping into a Raid).

That’s the reason that Mythic+ is capped so low in terms of end-of-dungeon rewards. Raids drop 639 pieces with 632 from non-rare drops. Mythic+ caps out dropping 613, with vault only dropping Myth 1.

M+ has an insane amount of anti-melee mechanics. There’s an unfair balance to healers doing a lot of work sometimes. Plus, I’ve had affixes be bugged and have orbs spawn in our of range areas.

Mythic raid gearing is so good virtually every guild gives up getting any loot at all from it for months when trying to clear it and solely gears from mythic+ lol.

It is really easy to get 3~5 pieces of MYTHIC gear from raid in a single lockout if you are lucky, while you can only get 1 piece from vault doing M+.

Yes, M+ rewards need to be changed, it needs to be buffed.

M+ end of dungeon hero track gear is completely useless for majority of playerbase now, unless you are first week to 80 and wearing blues.

Hate it, don’t play it find people who support your playstyle.

Spamming keys is time-consuming. Ppl who don’t do keys don’t understand the system.

As a person who enjoys M+ and not raiding as much as I used to, Blizzard should cow tow to my whims and my whims alone and remove all loot from raiding so we aren’t LITERALLY FORCED to raid to get trinkets we need for M+.

Simple: if you wipe to the boss’s enrage, you now get loot.
