Meta is not important for keys 10 and lower . But because it exists , past 10s the player base overall drops significantly because of it . Specs go from way 15 seen down to 5 specs only seen . By adding a random group finder for M+. Every spec , every class will be able to play at higher levels
Gonna need some sources for that.
Nevermind, weâre firmly in the âI made it upâ territory of sources.
Well, you see an overall drop in all players because not everyone cares or finds the challenge worth the gratification.
I think removing agency, especially on competitive keys, is a recipe for disaster.
Itâs literally on raideriobro . Go to the m+ section and u can see the number of players per bracket lmao.
Right now as per Raiderio , the player count is as such
0.1%= 46 characters 3378.55 io
1% = 453 characters 3083.75 io
10% = 4527 characters 2722.84 io
25%= 11312 characters 2434.62 io
40% = 18101 characters 1990.45 io
And you can see as the % gets lower so does the class/spec presentation. Because of the meta . Make the M+ system random ques and watch how numbers and class/spec representation will change drastically because now people canât single out specs and reject them etc
When you look at the hardest challenges with less than 50 human beings even touching it, numbers go down. Shocked. Shocked I tell you
lol you stated that I was in âmade up territoryâ and I posted facts and proper statistics and you respond this way.
Tell me your losing a discussion without telling me your losing a discussion
When you claimed that you go from 15 specs to 5 above 10s? Thatâs made up territory.
Top 10 players in the world are the same -
Pally
Shamen
Priest
Voker
Dk
And one mage
Top 60 players in the world are the same classes as the top 10 + one rogue
Top 100 players in the world are the same classes as the ones above
Oh sorry I miscounted from the difference itâs not 5 itâs actually 7. So from 15 different specs to just 7
Whereâs the hunters ? Whereâs the warriors ? Whereâs the DH ? Whereâs the monks ? Where the warlocks
All those top ones are running the exact same specs cause meta .
Random M+ Que finder removes that meta and allows every class and spec for a chance to shine
Yeah thatâs not how that works at all. Things considered âmetaâ are meta for how they perform. The only way to kill metas is to buff the underperforming stuff. You do NOT kill metas by forcing people to play with folks they donât want to play with, or nerfing so called meta classes into the ground. All you do then is create toxic environments and even more toxic metas built around punishing people for the crime of performing well.
ABSOLUTELY NOT. Although I havenât ran mythic since it was first introduced, I am not sacrificing any keys I obtain to depletion because Johnny 2x4 from the random group couldnât be bothered to interrupt and sacrifice his âl33t d33psâ numbers. This is just a terrible suggestion outright.
No it wonât. Itâs just going to make people stick to private mythic key runs even harder than they already do. Why would 4 other people risk their keys in public groups when they could do private groups and only have one person risk a key?
See the above about people not risking keys if they donât have to.
Itâs cute that you think that. Unfortunately thatâs not how the real world works at all. As someone who has 20 years experience creating content for other games, people are always going to take what they believe the path of least resistance. You also canât make players do something they donât want to do, or play with someone they donât want to play with. Because then by trying to force it youâre just going to make them leave, then it wonât matter how good or bad your design is because no one will be playing your stuff. See above if you want to kill metas you do that by buffing the underperforming stuff.
I like the one better where I can boot an underperforming DPS, overzealous tank, or healer that canât heal their way out of a paper bag.
No it wonât, not even close. What will however motivate people is by buffing the underperforming specs so that there is no meta, and not being tools to your tanks/healers so your groups will actually fill faster. People are waiting because DPS are a dime a dozen, but good tanks and healers are far harder to come by. And why would I waste my time tanking for a group thatâs going to try whine about every little thing I do or blame me for not doing my job AND theirs? Or the tryhards that try to nitpick every choice I made in my talent trees or similar when half of them have never even played the class, or whatever other scenario you can come up with.
Thatâs a blizzard issue because every season itâs the same classes that live the season out
Mages
Boomies
Vokers
And yes Iâm a little biased here because for once my class (warrior and fury spec) started out monstrous and blizzard instantly proceeded to nerf us with nerf after nerf after nerf and subsequently shooting Arms in the foot with each nerf
Etc etc.
And let people have choice between sticking to private groups or quing into random groups .
I rather Que into 10 different groups and fail then sit and wait 2 hours to get into one group only to fail
And what youâre failing to see is that certain classes or specs of classes arenât represented as much for very specific reasons. If you want to kill metas that call for the exclusion of certain classes, then you buff the underperformers. For example, nerfing warriors doesnât magically make mages, boomchickens, or evokers better. It just makes warriors equally as bad as those other 3. When you buff the other 3 to the level of the warrior then you have 4 good classes instead of 4 bad ones.
In my own stuff if I have 3 weapons a person can use to take down foes, a rifle, shotgun, or pistol, and the pistol by far outdoes the rifle and shotgun, nerfing that pistol doesnât magically make the other 2 better. If people think theyâre bad, it just means Iâm stealing a good weapon from them and giving them an inferior replacement.
And what Iâm telling you is that your âsolutionâ to bring in public queued groups for mythic wonât solve anything, especially with your proposed stipulations. All youâre doing is changing 2 hours for a single private group invite for 20 minutes wait per queued group and then several failed groups between now and then. Itâs not solving anything and just incentivizing people to stay in private groups. I get that waiting in queues isnât fun, but thereâs reasons why it happens. You might be willing to sit there and fail those 10 times, but most other people wonât. And blizzard isnât going to implement something like that where very few will use it if any.
Ok but did anyone discover how they will force healers and tanks to participate in a queue?
Itâs not just meta versus non-meta, though. If you bring 3 shadow priests to a dungeon with a lot of casters, youâre going to be in for a rough time. Whereas if instead you brought a feral druid, arms warrior, and beast mastery hunter, none of whom are currently even close to meta, youâll have a much easier time dealing with those casters.
All you need to do is bring back scrolls and drums and make them only work inside of dungeons, not raids. Boom, fixed.
Probably just add a battle rez drum too or whatever or give it to all the healers. I donât get why they are peace mealing out battle rez anymore, same with Blood lust. Maybe they need to power down all this crap too so they arenât so desirable and necessary.
What would be the incentive for tanks and healers to queue when itâs strictly a downgrade for them to randomly queue? We donât struggle to find groups.
Your queues would be just as long, if not longer.
By bricking their potentially-higher key when the random group fails a 4.
Some people are always trying to ice skate up hillâŚ
People really will suggest anything except fixing tanks and healers.
They are dead set against buffing healers too much. They would rather nerf Queen Ansurek 3 more times. I wouldnât step foot back in Nerubar Palace even if they nerfed Queenâs HP by 50%. That place is annoying.
You people will do whatever it takes to not make some friends and run in an organized group.
