Hey there!
I’m starting to go higher in M+, and I’m wondering if it matters which affinity I run. I normally don’t feel comfortable in melee so I’ve been running Balance affinity, but if Feral is much better then I don’t mind switching and learning how to play it.

Feral Affinity is what’s gonna do more damage in m+. You can play with balance if you want but it’s less damage than catweaving.

Thank you =) So when I’m cat weaving, do I just keep my bleeds up, and on trash use swipe? I haven’t played feral much

Yes and no. If you are doing unitarget rotation (that is, for example: dealing damage to the boss or to a single enemy in the dungeon) then you should apply the feral “Rake and Rip” dots together with the Sunfire and Moonfire dots (at least the latter is more important than Sunfire). But when it comes to multitargeting (3-5 enemies) you can choose to only use Rake along with Swipe (not forgetting the aforementioned Sunfire and Moonfire dots) but when it’s 5 or more (Use only Swipe and Sunfire).
As a tip try to use rip with 4 combo points and when you have 5 you use it on Ferocious Bite (using 50 energy to do more extra damage)

Check out questionably epic’s guide on catweaving.
Basically the answer depends on the amount of targets, covenant, etc. Generally up to 3-4 targets, you should spread the DOTs, including sunfire, moonfire, and rake. Rip when you get to 5 on a priority target.
I’ve run both balance and feral. Feral feels more smooth and better able to weave it in and out. Balance takes a lot of set up to get it going right. Feral you can get some DOTs and bleeds up without really impacting the ability to heal.

I’m not some pro resto, but got mine to 2.9 IO casually in a matter of a few weeks.
Though all top are running feral, I’m sticking with Fae/Chicken.
With 1m CD convoke, it’s a nice AoE burst. Pretty good.
DPSing as chicken is pretty safe. No need to deal with a lot of melee mechanics, which is like 70% of them tbh.
Convoke is also great for some isnane aoe healing when it’s needed the most.
My druid’s overall is usually between 3 and 4k
My personal verdict, Cat/Necro is really good for single target nukes, especially high Tyr keys. But imho u need to have coordinated group too. So they dont take avoided damage. Convoke for eveyrthing else
I agree with you on convoke, at least when you play mostly pugs. Having that 1 minute CD is great. And if its up and not needed, I can use it to DPS.
I typically run necro on tyrannical weeks when convoke is less needed.
It’s more a personal thing than what is right or wrong, a lot about resto can be put that way, even in higher keys. I swap back and forth between necro / feral and fae / chicken depending on affix’s and my comp. There have been thousands of keys timed above 25 this week as either so it’s really whatever is comfortable for you.
