M+ player.. time to jump ship?

I played dragonflight to mythic keystone as a sub rogue at the start… absolutely loved it and I’m back for the expansion.
But everything i’ve read about rogues is a bit worrying.

Should I jump ship to elemental shamans? According to tier lists elemental shamans are doing great.

No one besides you knows how much you care about performance versus fun. Nor which class you enjoy more, or how good you are at either one.

Is there a reason you cant just have both ready and play both and decide for yourself?

If you have people to play with it literally doesn’t matter but if you have to pug there’s actually no reason to not play the FOTM meta classes anymore if you intend to play past vault keys. Blizzards incompetence in even allowing S3 / S4 of Shadowlands and S2 / S3 / S4 of Dragonflight to happen without severe nerfs to the god comps ended up completely warping the playerbases ability to even think for themselves and its leaked down to the bottom.

But what do you expect to happen when you literally ruin your game for a combined total of almost 3 years? You lose nothing from fotm rerolling and only gain. Why wait 30 minutes getting declined from keys when you can get instantly accepted playing Aug or Mage? The worst that happens is your class gets a slap on the wrist at most which essentially does nothing. This gets even further enforced because the reroller excuse is always “But Blizzard! If you nerf us keys are literally locked in for the rest of the season!” and these are the ones that Blizzard choses to listen to even though any time “nerfs” have happened, top keys still kept pushing higher.

I was over 3600 IO in Season 3 DF and would still get declined from 20s for vault for 10+ min because people would rather take the “meta” specs even if they’re 1k-1.5k lower score that would do 1/4th the damage. Players are so mindrotted at this point because of Blizzard refusing to fix their game and it’s not going to change until they actually start reigning in specs.

Genuinely depends on how much you’re willing to deal with the Meta chasing community issues, as Bonezz was saying. As well as if you’re able to overcome the glaring issues with the new hero trees.

Sub seems to have the best opportunity to be good, but their rotation is pretty clunky from what I’m understanding (Outlaw-only brainlet here).

So, if you can get past those two issues, and have a dedicated group or don’t mind waiting upwards of 2 hours to get into a key, then you can probably manage. Otherwise, you might be better off meta chasing.

Personally, I’m going to suffer through the experience just so they have something data wise showing that the situation is as bad as we are saying. But I don’t recommend people punish themselves by playing something that is going to waste their time.

I have abandoned ship and am now a pvp elemental shaman again like I was back in MoP. I’m not interested in a Disney rogue glow up again. They shouldnt be in this state to begin with.
