Was taking a look at the disparity between the season 1 and season 2 M+ cutoffs and its real interesting. 1% of the playerbase achieved 3049 io while over 12% have achieved 3k this season. That really seems like a testament to how nerfed they made m+. Do yall think they went too far or do you think easier keys overall is better because it means more keys for players to do overall despite obvious reward disparity issues? Personally i think season 1 was too hard while s2 is too easy and hope they reach a middle ground in season 3
Didn’t they add a new 3k acheivement this season or was that also last season?
The fact that there wasn’t a reward at 3k last season probably contributes more. Most people just stopped at 10s. Wowhead says 15% of profiles got 2500 last season, which was pretty much all 10s. This season there’s a reward for pushing that extra 500 points so more players are doing it.
Easier is better according to the community because it means more people you can make their ilvl number go higher.
I wouldn’t expect anything to change, if it were to I’d actually expect mass complaints.
To put it another way, it is better because it is more accessible to a larger portion of the player base.
S1 drove away a lot of players away from M+…and of course the numbers only dropped more in S2 as expected (because of x-pack age, not difficulty)
I don’t care if the key levels that reward the best gear are easy enough for virtually anyone to do, It leaves the higher key levels for people to win by skill alone, not because they have more gear than others and that’s fine. The issue is raiding doesn’t work this way, heroic should give the best gear since heroic is about as easy as M+10. Then there should be two modes between heroic and pre-nerf mythic, with no lockouts and the ability to do any boss in any order, for people to flex skill on their max gear character, instead of nerfing mythic so much. First is heroic+2 which is the super nerfed end of patch version of the mythic raid, and then heroic+3 which is the mid-patch somewhat nerfed version. Also from heroic+2 onwards let people fight bosses in any order they want.
it is a pretty easy season all in all… for a dps at least.
the toughest one ended up being priory for me and that’s more of a healer issue
not many healers can cope with the lightspawn drills lol
Not many DPS knowing how to use their defensives properly until you get over +15s is more of the issue.
“I just took 99% of my health, time to pop a defensive!”
I think that this season overall, between more approachable M+ and easier gearing via delves and crafting, has probably kept more people engaged for longer. That is good for the game.
Yeah, the scaling changes combined with affix changes did not need both to happen.
Either one or the other would have been fine, but (as we’ve seen before), even if it’s the same difficulty, player would prefer that content to have a higher number associated with it.
Turbo boost added +2/3 key levels
This is probably part of it as I think KSL was first introduced this season. So people have started aiming for that instead of just quitting at KSM.
Ehh, I’m not really sure about this.
6 character ilvls is enough stats to account for just over half a key level, so saying 2-3 seems dubious to me.
Yup.
Gets wrecked by blatantly telegraphed (or avoidable) damage, screen goes red, then uses DR…
“I USED MY DEFENSIVES! HEALER BAD”
Bruh lol
Six average ilvl is a huge health and damage increase. I’m watching friends that struggled through all their 10s prior now struggle through 13s.
There was no motivation last season for me to push 3k and the dungeon pool was miserable so I stopped at all portals.
This season I’ve really enjoyed the dungeons and there’s a reward for 3k - so I def went to 3k
Last season I legit only did like ten total 10+s across multiple toons.
This season I’m sitting at ~ 100 timed 10+s on my main alone
What’s funny to me though is that even though M+ is the vast majority of what I do in WoW…I’ve been so uninterested in the dungeon pools, so jaded by pugs, and so burnt out in general (combined with the fact that most of my friends and guild have stopped playing) that I’ve actually pushed less than I have in previous seasons or expansions.
I have zero desire to do higher keys. It’s just…not fun for me right now.
In spite of having ten toons with an IO score (two of them with KSM, three more within spitting distance of it) and having run hundreds of keys…I’ve not run anything higher than a +9 this season. I just…don’t care. Lol.
I’d rather blaze through 6s and have fun at this point than grind 13s. New acheive and rewards be damned.
It’s between 6 and 7% more stats, which (using your character for damage) is between 6 and 7% more damage and HP.
Going from 678 to 685, none of your secondary stat percentages would change by more than 1%.
Can you really feel the difference between 21.15% haste and 21.8% haste?
But how is gaining 6-7% more stats supposed to compensate for mobs gaining 21-33% more health and damage?
Do people want other people playing the MMO or do they want to login to a barren wasteland? It’s either you have a living game or you don’t.
Like all this other conjecture and yapping is completely meaningless and made up, people are just in their heads, don’t even know what they’re talking about.
You either want a good game that people play or you want to be cynical and for there to be no one, it’s either or.
