Today was the last straw. I decided to uninstall wow after being declined to multiple +10 pugs in lfg. My ilvl is 380, io is 900 and I play one of the highest simming specs, survival. However, because im not a rouge, frost mage, blood dk or strong range dps I get declined to every group. I cant believe how little has been done to address the imbalance in m+. Tuning in regards to numbers will never fix this when other classes design is just flat out better. The fault does not only lie with blizzard. Yes, 90% of the tuning is small numbers and not kit changes but the community is SOOO picky they are partly to blame as well. In conclusion the main reason I decided to quit is that class' are not balanced (kit not dps numbers) and that has created a m+ meta too small to be acceptable. I don't think blizzard is doing enough to fix this and for what its worth the whole expansion is just a legion reskin if im being brutal about it. cya in 8.1 becuz I never actually quit forever.
Id like the thank all the elitists for declining me, without you I never could have quit on my own!
it's a shame Blizzard doesn't allow people to form groups outside of the group finder for this content
I feel you. Shadow isn't viable so I had to switch over to discipline and at least i'm doing relatively well in my spec, albeit burned out from the constant micromanagey playstyle
mythic+ is too important too the end game for this to be acceptable.
frost mage is far and away the biggest offender. cleave damage needs to be toned down OR utility and slows need to be toned down.

as a bear, I feel you. I spent around 45 minutes yesterday being auto declined to groups for level 8 and 9 keys, even for dungeons I had already either timed or 2 chested on the level I was applying to do. at one point there was a group that had been waiting 36 minutes for a tank, and I was auto-declined. I guess for them it really was blood or nothing.
really does chap my butt that people will occasionally come here to these forums and complain about where all the tanks are at.. while simultaneously turning down capable tanks just because they're not dk's. in key levels that don't matter for meta!!
vent over. but really. class and spec balance has just been terrible this expansion, worst it has ever been. all I can do is hope that 8.1 will bring out some worthwhile improvements to everyone who needs it.

This is what is has come too, Why take survival when you can take another class that does it better? Tuning if so off right now. For example the other day i let a feral druid into my plus 7 run. Just because he had normal uldir and most of heroic uldir done He was out right horrible. Sure he did the mechanics just fine. But his damage was inching above the tanks. There as to be alot of fixes. Some classes just can't compete. Sadly i put in my advertisement not wanting certain class speccs10/28/2018 11:42 AMPosted by CalabreezyToday was the last straw. I don't think it's the meta, it's the players in this game. A lot of them are autistic and obsessive (must have frost mage, blood DK, and rogue or it's impossible!). No matter what you'll do, these players will always have a few classes/specs they favor.
I'm sure with your ilvl and experience you can easily do +10s. In fact, you have done multiple +10s.

Survival is worse then most of the good melee specs. U could switch to ur ranged spec and get into groups ez.... u bring nothing to the group as survival. To talk of the meta being to tight when u can play a desired roll. U cant ay a hunter and be frustrated people dont like I as melee

You do know survival is one of the top parsing single target specs, right?
Sure that may not matter in m+ but it is tyran and their aoe isnt awful. Especially at 380. The meta is just what everyone pushing high keys is looking for. This week BM is especially well though because of explosive. So i can see why bringing a survival wouldn't be wanted.
Honestly, Blizzard just does not know what utility tax is. It would be great if specs with good raid utility had lower single target damage, and specs with great mythic+ utility had lower aoe damage. The world would make sense. And to have most classes have a spec or the ability to talent towards each option (except specialist classes like priest etc.)
This way you either bring a utility spec and a dps heavy spec then the third depends on the tank/healer combo or the affix week where you might want more utility or more damage.
Furthermore, talent rows could provide the ability to bring utility OR damage - instead of a utility row and a damage row etc. At the moment i think that is why talent trees don't feel like the change up gameplay. You can pick option 1, 2 or 3 in a row - they all do damage but option 1 does more damage than 2 or 3 in 90% of cases, so you always pick option 1. This is very hard to make the options balanced so the only other idea is option 1 for single target, 2 for multi and 3 for whatever - but again its not a "choice" it is forced on content. If 1 is single target, 2 is utility and 3 is multitarget or different utility - then you might pick it depending on group composition and affix or DPS if the grp/raid already has the required utility.
Rambling now..
Dunno, just a thought.

i'm a ret and i get in groups all the time. check my 1k io
Its true, people don't accept anyone besides the meme. its surprising how many people play meme specs.
slimes.
slimes.
Class utility is so awful in how it’s spread around. 3 specs together (bdk, fmage, any rogue) basically bring everything you could want while many specs bring almost nothing.
I've been trying to pug just to see how bad it is, and I joined a group without a tank for a Shrine 11 (was just trying to complete), and we invited a tank and he said "sorry, no rogue, I'm not doing this" and left.
Found it funny.

Hmm if there only was an option to start your own group, it'd fix all those problems. Make it happen Blizzard.
Just give every class Shroud, an AoE stun, heroism, a purge, and a CC.
Easy fix cyka blyat.

And you know M+ classes meta isn't based off the highest parsing spec, right?
Even if it's tyrannical, aoE dps matter more than single target DPS.
You have the option of playing a range utility class with very good cleave, ability to snipe orb on explosive week , and to stress it again : RANGE... yet you choose yet another melee spec who offer nothing special in term of utility.
you only have yourself to blame.
So someone shouldn't be able to play the spec they want in a 14 yr old game? Funny watching sub numbers drop to an all time low. Yet the wow addicts still insist on adding more limitations on getting into groups. WoW has the most out of touch and "meta blinded" players of any mmorpg.10/29/2018 09:56 AMPosted by Vloorg10/28/2018 05:54 PMPosted by Monkerboii...

Anyone is free to play whatever spec they want to play. Just realize that you are dealing with other players who may be slaves to the meta, in which case it would behoove you to accommodate them as best you can to avoid conflict.
That or group with people you know. This is why we have guilds. If you don't want to play the FOTM class and spec (like me), then you should use your social skills to befriend other players that have like-minded interests and run your keystones with them.
