M+ made me quit raiding

Back in WoD and early Legion I actually enjoyed raiding it was the first time I ever got cutting edge and I found myself in a couple guilds with a nice environment. I got burned out really fast between the problems of legion (RNG legendaries, AP, and M+).

The worst to me really was the M+ (and titanforging) because I would see people who had never done mythic raiding have higher ilvl than me because they spammed keys all day when here I am progressing spending hours every week on the hardest content and getting equal or lesser reward.

I know some people enjoy M+ but to me I think it’s wrong for it to reward Mythic raid ilvl gear

it would have been better if they made the mythic loot from current M+ start at like, 16-18s imo

10s are kinda freebies

Some people feel high keys are more difficult than M raiding, I’m sure they’ll be along shortly though don’t you worry lol

well hopefully they stop and take a minute to realize that 10s are too easy for the level of gear the end of the week chest gives. I feel a tad different about the 430 end of the dungeon chest though, that is a good incentive for dungeoning.

So you stoped doing something you enjoy because other players had a bigger number in their objects? Really?

I won’t try to say Keys can’t be challenging but it’s 5 man content compared to 20 man content. Also raids were always designed to be the end-game content of WoW not dungeons. I know higher ilvl = faster/easier time with keys but they don’t “need” that gear like a raider actually does to progress.

It got to the point in my guild where the GM would kick people if they weren’t doing multiple key runs every week. Granted, this was in legion but it’s really no different in BFA.

Edit: I should also add my gripe was Mythic raiding is limited to 1 boss kill (loot chance) per week where keys you can just spam as much or as often as you like and get the same if not higher (titanforge) ilvl gear

Quit raiding is a good choice, less raiding guild mean less economy. Vantus rune, Codex, Feast, Cauldron, Flasks, and mats wont sell at much, less economic flow mean AH goblin and bots drowned the AH, and it will all go down from there.

@OP, I’ve been saying this since Legion lol. I stopped raiding after Tomb of Sargeras because it was too easy to keep my gear levels up doing casual heroic & mythic+

Mythic raiding was too much of a time sink for little reward.

I think a lot of bosses in Mythic should be made harder, BIS can drop off the easiest bosses. I think +'s need a bump in level before rewards. And I think people who suddenly have some mythic bosses to brag about are hugely annoying in how ‘mythic raids should be the only place for the best gear’.

That’s a good point and basically how I felt about it. Mythic raiding is the biggest time sink in the game and has no real reward (except now in BFA with the top 100 guild titles) other than bragging rights. The mog and mount is farmable by the time next tier or 2 drops.

Which I understand, and didn’t complain about but between that and then essentially “forced” to do M+ to keep up I just said to myself this is way too much time spent for too little reward

What I find funny is how some people on this forum ACTUALLY consider a +10 to be “difficult” content.+10’s are fairly easy, even if you wipe once or twice you’ll probably still end up timing it.

And you people who actually pay hundreds of thousands of gold for +10 carries? What are you doing guys?? What a waste of money :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

“Freebies” indeed…

at some point i feel the essences ranked up made a pretty huge difference. if you can get the grinds in and the heart lvled up you can blast through 10s.

All I know is that I hate MDI and I think it is bad for the game.

Ive noticed a lot of former “casuals” or people who didn’t really raid arose from M+ and they hold some sort of ego/toxicity that a lot of elitist raiders do lol

If not the players, Raider io i find to be even more toxic than “link aotc”

Even ignoring all the essence stuff, the dungeons themselves are not that hard assuming everyone knows what to do.

My alts certainly don’t have any good essences, so even with just having a decent set of welfare gear you’ll do fine in +10s as long as you are a competent player.

The whole thing about low M+ keys being “hard” is waaaaaaayyyy overblown by GD forums people, it’s simply not true. Assuming you actually know the dungeons/mechanics ahead of time (as you should by now), low keys including +10/+11 are all fairly easy.

So, I want you to read the things you say, together, and then realize how wrong some of it has to be. Someone else, per your admission, grinded WAYYY more than you at some other kind of content and ended up with more ilvl. Your way clearly isn’t the biggest time sink, since you can’t do it infinitely.

i think i heard somewhere next season was being tuned to 15s… I’m hoping that’s true. It could be fun!

I love M+ but OP here does have a point that many others have felt. Not all raiders want to M+

It isn’t uncommon to have to do other bits of content to do ANY type at the very highest level. Many BiS pieces for m+ come from raiding. A lot of people from M+ aren’t able to raid seriously due to schedules, yet their best stuff still comes there.

You guys are missing the marks on a lot of things. M+ at high keys IS challenging. Plus a 10 key doesn’t give you mythic great, it gives you heroic ilvl gear, which like heroic, has a chance of forging which they are removing soon. After the patch, 10s will give heroic gear and 15s will give mythic gear and the last 2 bosses of the mythic raid will go 10 ilvl even higher. I’d say that is fair. Yes you can blow through 10s. You can also blow through heroic ep. Sounds fair to me.
