M+ Legendary

I was just looking at the best resto shaman in M+ and saw someone I think named Thaner as the best shaman using permanent EQ on his elemental. Is EQ really a big enough DPS boost to be worth? Am I correct in thinking sub 15 groups arent good enough to dodge, so it’s still worth it to use the PTC for throughput? As rarely as I see EE being used I just dont understand how it’s superior to PTC.

Top players (3k+ io) aren’t representative of most of the playerbase. These people usually cheese by doing the most damage they can in any composition.

Same with paladins going venthyr for more dps. Of which most suck, because they try to imitate Ellemere and they suck at it.

Generally speaking, dps builds/legendaries only work when you have a organized team that doesn’t take avoidable and unnecessary damage.

Get Primal Tide Core

I have had PTC maxed ever since it was possible, and gonna max MTT next week. I was just curious if it was something that translated down to me plugging, or if like you said, you need a smart/organized crew.

Just use PTC.

Earth ele EQ leggo is for Rshams in organised groups, doing high keys where they need the extra dps to time them.

They aren’t playing in groups who stand in every little thing.

Damage becomes an issue when trying to time higher keys especially during fort week. Shaman have really good hps thouroughput and once you hit like 16s most deaths are getting 1 hit by something the healer has no control over. If you can heal through the pride with zero or 1 a minor CD you can probably afford to use it.

Fwiw, I use this with my resto shaman he spike 7 to 8k dps on packs without much input from me

I use PTC when it’s time to get serious. I use Spiritwalker’s in the few situations where I find it helpful (Bursting is a good since you can have an extra CD to survive big bursting mistakes, also good for Prideful in general), and I use the Earth Ele EQ Legendary when it’s a carry group where I don’t expect to have to do any serious healing anyways.

The Earth Ele EQ Leggo is also incredible for Torg because it stacks with the Torghast power that does the same thing and you can an Earth Ele running around with two earthquakes that do +150% extra Nature damage from that other power and 100% uptime on the Ele. Considering that 9.1 is adding more Torg content it seems like it will be worthwhile to keep a Torg leggo going, as it appears to be something Blizz want to keep going all expansion.

All of that is true. But Torg is so irrelevant even a single EQ on your earth ele just 1 shots everything and kills bosses in seconds with the right powers.

I definitely wouldn’t consider that a factor in making it.

Yeah I was told that MTT can be helpful on Prides by giving you an extra CD. Since I mostly pug I OFTEN have teammates getting hit by the pride burst so figured I would make one once the damage gets too much. Good idea on the Torghast legendary. I’ll have to make it once I finish my MTT. Even if it’s not super important, it’s something fun to work on. Thanks a ton for all your help guys I appreciate it.

The Earth Elemental Earthquake legendary is a fun one for us to run. I ran it the last couple weeks and the damage it provides is a nice little boost. From my personal experience, I can end a 15 dungeon between ~ 2.2k - 2.8k Overall DPS running the legendary with about 30-40% of my overall damage being tied to Earthquake. This obviously varies by how much stuff the group gets hit by, the tank, and the weekly affixes.

With Earthquake on it, the Earth Ele is also better at grabbing and holding agro from the tank when they need a little breather. As long as you spam Healing Surge on the Ele, you can usually keep him up for a bit.

There are downsides too, as our Pet rock is not very smart when called and on certain affixes such as sanguine, you more or less have to dismiss him so the remaining mobs don’t stand on the puddles after one of them dies.

Do you basically cast him on a pack then dismiss? My main worry is running from place to place and having him pull.

On most occasions I find he is ok moving from pack to pack. There are time where I dismiss him when running some tighter paths just to be safe. He is not as bad as I remember him being in BFA. There were times where I would pop him in old dungeons such as Tol Dagor and he would just teleport himself upstairs and come back down to the group with 4-5 add packs.

If you plan to heal a good amount of M+, it’s a legendary worth crafting after getting your main Resto legendary(s) to 235. It lets us offer a little bit of damage to the dungeon group while not sacrificing much of anything in the process. I feel like Resto legendaries aren’t nearly as powerful in M+ setting as they are in raid settings.

Primal Tidal Core isn’t really necessary as with Echoes of the Elements and Primordial Wave, we can usually maintain Riptide on 4-5 party members. Spiritwalkers Tidal Totem is a good extra CD for M+ from what I’ve heard but it really depends if you need it for the level of M+ you plan to do. With Ascendence, Spirit Link Totem, Healing Tide Totem, & Cloudburst, we have alot of group CDs already. I have yet to craft or use the Spiritwalkers Tidal Totem but I don’t run anything higher then 15s or 16s usually.

Yeah I have PTC maxed and MTT to 225. Gotta start working on EE leggo now. Thanks man

One caution with Earth Ele earthquake is that is will pull the enemies that are flying around the center area of the Sanguine Depths hallways. That’s the only time I’ve seen it pull things unexpectedly.

I’m not sure why it pulls them tho, as casting Earthquake on the side of the room will not pull them, but for some reason Earth Ele does and only with the EQ Leggo.

Mostly it’s just fun. Torghast isn’t hard at all for Resto Shaman, but the early floors can be really slow and it’s fun to be able to get to a state where you can literally just walk down the hallways and the double earthquake will kill everything your casually stroll past. PTC and MTT do nothing for Torg, so its nice to have a leggo to make it a bit more fun.

Oh wow, that is something I did not know lol. Does wearing the Earth Elemental legendary actually stack ontop of the Torghast power? That would be very interesting especially coupled with the reduced Earth Ele CD and EQ dmg buff Torg powers.

You really don’t need MTT to heal pride, even in really bad groups.

Our normal m+ conduit setup is using the healing stream totem one that makes healing rain heal for 100% more.

Riptides on everyone, healing rain down, cloudburst totem, healing stream totem. Ridiculous AOE healing, followed by a huge AOE nuke when cloudburst detonates.

And you’ve still got another cloudburst and primordial wave (or other covenant) to do another round of insane AOE healing. As well as ascendance, life link, etc.

You don’t even need to time stuff particularly well as rsham on pride. We just have so many tools to deal with it. I can’t recall ever having pride issues on my rsham. It’s even do-able at +15 using nothing but two spells - riptide and healing surge spam.

Yeah I honestly never remember how healing Totem affects rain. I just drop the Totem when I need party wide healing. I’ve been slowly trying to actually use all the tools of the class. I guess HST is my next project lol
