M+ leavers

Alright…

Was in a 24 AD, first pull went great, no deaths, went to first boss killed it without any issue but for some reason the healer dies at the end of the fight. Aight no biggie, we rez and move on.
As I’m rezzing the healer, tank decides he wants to pull a big pack. Proceeds to type “???” while I and healer are missing because rezzing. 1 dps dies, me and healer make it to the fight and tank decides he leaves the key and blames everyone but himself.

So let’s see how much time I lost there and I’ll never get back.
30 mins to find people, another 10 to wait for everyone to make it to the dungeon, another 10 mins in the key. All in all, lost about an hour and accomplished nothing, wow!

And the best part is the tank left and got no consequences whatsoever!!! What a beautiful system!!! Just because he could not wait for a mere 5 seconds for healer to be rezzed! Nice!

DO SOMETHING BLIZZ

That’s not true. his consequences are below.

being a tank sucks.
as a tank you get told things like…

you pull packs 1-2-3… dps WTF is with these pulls, you should do it 2-3-1"… ok next run you pull 2-3-1 dps say “WTF are you new who pulls this way, you should pull 1-2-3”…

pulling a spread out pack (my aoe damage will NOT hit them all) plan to drop an aoe on 1/2 and use an attack on the other… but wait (no I didn’t stop) b4 I get to them I see spells flying over me, was pulled for me, splitting the pack up and they go all over the place. DPS be like “you’re an idiot you can’t even hold threat”

do a medium size pull (2 packs) , I get “these pulls are too small learn to play tank”… I’ve done this route many times and +2/+3 the key. I can pull 3 with the people I run with so ok if they want it, I pull a 3 pack of the same mob types as b4 and people can’t manage the new number of things they need to do to control a pack that size and dies… “tank you are F’n stupid”

i stop to cough … "tank why are you going so slow, you trolling "?

I played with a shammy healer that was used to playing with a BDK and I went on my new prot warrior and he refused to heal him… “you shouldn’t need heals” (as a healer almost no tank needs zero heals)… I hardly need any heals, my self heals are limited, my gear sucks and you all are not getting any kicks… “you need to learn how to play”… just maybe toss me a heal man it’s not that hard…

I ask the group to drop slows so I can kite this pack, they are bugged… no one drops any slows, i die… “you need to learn how to manage that pull” … … next week mob gets nerfed and I never need to kite them again…

Druid healer (raid lead) stands between me and a mob that spawned. but so far away they are out of range of every spell I have AND off camera. they get threat and stand there and die. “why didn’t you have threat tank” me "cause you dont understand how threat works? " /kicked (might have added gas to that fire, but, honestly how silly was she)

I could keep this up all day…

after a while it can get to you… you just get sick of hearing it. people dont take the time to look at meters / logs or what they could do to fix the problem and the tank gets a lot of the heat.

leaving was not the right thing for that tank to do… but I know where he was coming from… we all need to be better to our tanks and this , might, improve… who knows XD …

Yep, and this is why I will never pug/main a tank. Huge respect to those who do.

On the other hand, I’ve seen some who think they are gods and can never make mistakes.

There is no solution that could not be used to punish or grief innocent people. And the fact of the matter is that there is already a solution if this is a problem for you. Find a group of people or a guild with similar play times as yourself, then run with them.

Other than that, there isnt really a solution.

I am not saying anything about your specific run, but I have Left a few dungeons on my tank after a first boss. If I am looking at the DPS and I got people doing less than tank damage, zero interrupts, zero dispels, zero stuns, taking a ton of avoidable damage I will leave. I dont expect people to be MDI competitors, but I just expect the minimum for +15 and higher keys.

they are the result of our treatment of them.

with everyone else dropping off, they are THE ONEs.

Exactly. I’ll leave if the group is failing at the basics. No kicks, no situational awareness and pulling extras, ignoring key mechanics. It’s not worth the time.

None that can be reasonably automated, which is why blizzard is never going to do it.

its what keeps them sane… its all they have left !! XD

As a Tank, I 100% agree. I don’t expect you to stick around if I can’t handle the dungeon. Don’t expect me to stick around if you can’t handle the dungeon/ your role.

Side note, I just finished a nasty 18 BRH on fort + bolstering where everyone was trying to kick except the hunter but everyone else was mostly overlapping. Lots of deaths, I stuck with it because no one was being toxic or trying to blame. The healer just said “Spell X hurts” and that was it. Perfectly reasonable and everyone was being chill despite the deaths rising.

I’m like 90000% more likely to stay if no one blames others and everyone is communicative. I would probably think that most other tanks are the same way. My experience so far is that there’s more toxicity at the lower rating than the higher ratings and those people find it harder to climb to higher ratings or hit a wall where they find it more difficult to climb because only the top 10% can play at their standards/expectations.

It’s a game, I (or anyone else) can choose who (or who not) to party with.

Have you heard of the WME (Warcraft Made Easy) community? Its a discord community for people that want to group with other people that don’t exhibit toxic behavior or leave keys. If you leave a key or are toxic in keys they you get removed from the community. It’s pretty active and a place where you can find teams of high iO players to push with as well as generally decent players.
