this does not imply there is an assumption every key will be completed
asking for clarification for the threshold is fine. pretending they are saying every key has to be completed is not.

During a +12 Necrotic Wake key there are some wipes and it’s obvious it will not be timed.
Your internet is okay, there is no emergencies pulling you away from the computer and the group collectively besides you decides that they want to continue the key.
Do you leave the key? Because if you do that’s a grief.
This was a simple statement, there is obviously more than that. For it to be considered griefing they need to prove there is some misguided intent. I would simply say to think twice before leaving and maybe not be leaver-happy after one wipe. They wont ban everyone doing high keys for score but maybe be more civil and ask if people want to carry on or not. At the end the easiest way to get suspended is if people keep reporting your behavior.

I love how the confused people in this thread don’t get that banning people for leaving keys at the rate they think will get people banned will just tank the m+ pug scene and cause a lot of unsubs. The accounting department would never let that happen.
There is no assumption.
Only a fool would expect anyone to complete a +11/+12/+13 depleted key. Lower it to 10, two time it and try again.

I don’t think so. Mythic+ is just a small percentage of people of the total player base. As well there are other options too

Sure m+ may take a hit by having a lower player base. But it would be a better environment. With all the options to choose from people will keep their sub

Yep you are right OP. Go ahead and stick it out in every key to be safe from the boogeyman.
Meanwhile the rest of us who have sane expectations and understanding will continue to use sensible logic on when to finish and when to abandon pugger keys.

It’s a big enough part that gutting the pug scene would have a negative enough effect blizzard wouldn’t want to go there. Which is why they took pains to put in that they are targeting griefers. Because leaving a key because the warlock is doing 300k dps, standing in bad, and you have 10 deaths before the first or second boss is not griefing.
