M+ keys should not downgrade when failed

I feel like this would help a lot with the amount of toxicity in keys. If i have completed every dungeon in a 8+ and my key gets downgraded because someone d/cs or rage quits is incredibly stupid imo. Why should I be forced to go back and clear something that I get absolutely no rewards from?

This change obviously wouldnt solve toxicity but I think it would help a lot instead of constantly nerfing the difficulty of the dungeons.

It sometimes takes a long time to get dungeons going. Having to wait 30-40 mins to fill a group, have it fail half way, then key getting downgraded to have to repeat that whole process again feels terrible

What if, before the key starts, you can choose between two options.

The key works exactly as it does now.

The key doesn’t deplete when the timer runs out, it just resets. No overtiming keys for vault / loot, but no deranking keys due to failures either.

You’re not living up to your guild name OP and neither is your guild. Maybe you should give it a try. Don’t treat your tanks like crap, then you’ll have a lot more tanks. And a good tank can help you out big time in keys, if you do them at all.

I’m so over it. Got KSM twice now; I’ll get it again this season. Not worried about a change in key degradation devaluing my effort. Fact is if you earned a key, you can get there again. It’s one extra step that you are able to do anyway. Huge waste of players’ time. Timing the key is the only thing that matters. You don’t get a key upgrade or better score for not timing. That’s the punishment that is already baked in.

If they didnt, loot would be nerfed.

If they can’t time keys reliably, they aren’t going very far up the gear pyramid, though, because they won’t get key upgrades.

So they can then farm the same key(lets say…a 10) over and over for easy gear. And because M+ can be spammed for loot infinitely as many runs a day as you can, its a bad ide. Its a way to balance out the infinite loot portion whereas raid is once per week.

So the balancing the infinite loot is punishing people for things out of their control like d/c? Makes 0 sense. This “balance” only hurts pugs for the most part.

If keys didn’t degrade upon breaking, you’d see drastically more key holders leaving group to find a new group.
Happens already but it would happen even more since key holders themselves no longer have a interest in trying to see their key out.

M+ is already challenging, now making key downgraded double that pressure

using my own key feel less pressure

but then maybe the success would double the pleasure? idk, i find myself playing new world more these few weeks

Mythic plus is so bad right now, shadowlands makes it look good

It’s already bad enough that scores get permanently inflated by being carried in difficulties that person has no business being in. Permanent keys means that hard carry can just keep listing the same run over and over until they brute-force their way to amazing vault goodies.

A +15 key where failure is almost guaranteed should not derank. Anything in the range of gear farming should. It’s a tap on the shoulder to say, “Hey. You sure you belong here?”
