M+ key countdown... wait.. where's my imp?

Can’t believe it hasn’t been fixed yet. My pet disappears as soon as I start a key for a m+ run. So while others mount up / pot / trink or in general prepare for the first pull, I start by summoning my pet. Worse is when I forget to do so.

In raid too, in Eternal Palace, kill first boss… jump in the pool to get to the 2nd boss… come out… where’d he go?

Am I missing something?

Pets always despawn in mythic + when the key is activated. Happens to hunters, and unholy DKs as well I believe

As for the eternal palace, pets have always had a hard time with pathing on the Z axis. They usually can’t find a path, and despawn when you move too far away.

Just check before bosses that you have a pet, or make a weak aura to remind you

Here’s a selective workaround: In dungeons where you can mount at the beginning, your last summoned pet (before the key started) will appear as soon as you dismount.

Fair enough. Thanks, good to know we’re not alone. But probably harder to understand how it hasn’t been fixed yet.

It’s not a bug. Blizzard set it up this way intentionally.

Then they should intentionally address this issue.

Either bump our shard regen back to 5 shard as it was, or remove the shard cost from pet summons. I prefer both.

It broke our class when they limit our shard to only regen back to one in the start of Legion, which was never even given a reason for changing that.

They quickly hotfix it by bumping shard regen to 3, and then asking us to give feedback on ‘how it feels’. And that’s where it all stopped.

Let me reinstate on ‘what i feel’ about this mess: Our soul shard should regen back to 5, like it once did.

They hotfixed it but not quickly. It was after a couple of months of legion and after warlocks and especially destruction were deep bottom tier that they changed it.

At least first half of Legion was an absolute disaster for destruction. We were competing with tanks for dps and Blizz kept nerfing us. I believe it was by far the worst period for destruction in the history of the game.

Yea, i forget to use the citations when i use the word ‘quickly’.

Come to think of it, start of Legion was a fairly low point for all warlock specs. While reverting to soul shard for every spec does expected to come with some hiccups, but being severely undertuned or even unplayable because we are shard starved is hardly acceptable.

Not to mention all the annoying missing pieces and back-tracked design:
1, Oh, now i must use [insert pet] if i’m spec [inset pet], if not i’ll be doing less dps? Didn’t we tried this and failed badly?
2, Thanks for keeping my eye of kilrogg useless. That DH spectral sight is really mocking what our eye could have done.
3, Wadda mean ‘immune’? It’s a demon, and you’re telling me my Enslave Demon doesn’t work on 90% of them? Isn’t this the demon themed expansion?
4, Wait, i need to run into the sewer to a permanent gateway, just to get in my own class hall? Why can’t i summon one, when i already have a gateway spell?

Hunters and DK pets are instant cast and do not require a resource like warlock pets.

You have 10 seconds to resummon your pet… your shard will regenerate by the time the dungeon starts

I don’t see what the issue is

The issue is it doesn’t need to happen or be that way in the first place

My trinket is a 4 second cast. Add the cast-time for mounting up. Then add the time it takes to summon my pet. Tight… Isn’t it?
Can still be done. There’s a work-around for everything. As long as there’s a good enough explanation for it, I’ll deal with it. Just can’t find any.

Everyone has to rebuff why would you not resummon pet?

It’s 1.3 seconds of your time, stop complaining about something so little when theres actual class problems.
