Anyone know what and how the M+ gear drop rate is calculated? Is it a blanket % or is there something else that goes into affect? Seems pretty low and then end up with 1 piece of gear on Tues…
it’s low - because it’s repeatable.
we don’t know exactly how it’s calculated, that info is kept internally. but we can aggregate percent droprates.
Its true but low because its repeatable is a horrible approach for a game that is 90% casuals
Well, it’s terrible for the casual, the same way that slot machines are terrible for gamblers. But if it’s not terrible enough to make a majority of the participants quit, it’s good for Blizzard.
This is Blizzards philosophy sadly, as long as its not terrible enough to have people leave the game en mass. It is terrible though and worthy of complaint.
IMO there should be some sort of bonus chance for loot the first time you run a mythic plus dungeon for the week.
they tried bonus rolls. it still wasn’t good enough. nothing short of a deterministic way to get every piece you want will make everyone happy.
Maybe giving more from the Vault based on the number of drops during the week in M+…
I have seriously went an entire week without a single drop with over 15 runs during the week.
without a single drop? or without a single drop that was an upgrade for you?
If they had an automated system for group members to pass on unneeded loot and kick it back to the group to roll, that would also be useful and could help a little without changing the drop rates. I think a lot of loot is wasted because groups disassemble immediately and no one wants to be bothered having a group discussion about extra loot.
I’m not entirely sure how it is calculated, but the drop rate is 40% per dungeon run.
It’s possible the game just rolls to see which one of the 10 cases above occurs, but then, I’m not sure how bonus loot from + chesting is calculated…
Yeah, because most of the time you got useless currency.
Imagine if most of the time, the GV gave you currency.
it’s a 20% chance to add an extra item per level above 20.
The game rolls to see how many items
Then rolls to pick the players
Then rolls to pick the item.
So +1 / 2 / 3 chesting makes no difference to the amount of loot?
There is an increased chance for loot for mythic plus dungeons above 20?
Correct.
A 21 has a 20% chance of awarding 3 items.
25 awards 3 items 100% of the time.
26 has a 20% chance of awarding 4 items.
Etc…
Without a single Drop…
I’ve had multiple characters that only get loot from the Vault some weeks.
