Respectfully - it’s players like you that turn of casual players. This game is bloated with systems and currencies and it’s not as easy as you are making it out to be.
I’d like to think this thread helped get Arena gear removed in DF. So that is half the battle. Most PvP players hate Arena and gate keeping better gear behind rating is wrong.
So we are returning to the 2 tier WoD style of gearing. In WoD there was no Arena gear there was only Conquest gear. So you could casually get BiS in Ashran or BGs and then if you enjoy Arena compete in it.
However in DF now you can get BiS without ever stepping foot in Arena since there is now only Conquest gear like in WoD. This is what PvP players have been asking for.
This is how M+ should be. There should be a Valor vendor and you can buy BiS gear there without doing M+. That way M+ can be for competition only just like Arena which both are the Esports of this game.

This thread had nothing to do with the removal of rating locked ilvl upgrades. Arena Gear will still be in DF too, so it wasn’t removed at all.
Conquest gear is Arena gear. Shadowlands also just had Conquest gear.

Arena Gear Definition - Gear that can ONLY be attained through ranked play either from Arena or RBGs.
There is NO Arena gear in DF because you can get BiS PvP gear without ever doing Arena, Ranked Play or The Great Vault. So PvP players have won this battle. Now if only PvE players can get a win by having Valor Vendors and BiS gear options equivalent to PvP.
As explained above it is not. Conquest Gear is Conquest Gear that can be attained from WPvP, BGs, Quest, Dailys, Epic BG Quest, Brawls.
You obviously don’t PvP and didn’t in WoD otherwise you would understand this.
You again have been proven wrong and should stop commenting about changes or how the game works. You can’t get BiS in SL right now due to unneeded ranked progression. Since there is still Arena Gear aka (Ranked Gear)
At least in DF Arena gear is removed. Now if PvE players can also get a break.

I’m offering you a solution. This isn’t an argument unless you want to argue against the simple fact that Grabbing a key and Starting a group solves your issue.
My Hunter was ungeared and had no score week 2 of this season. He’s now 299 with an io score of 2667. How ? I grabbed a key, and started a group.
It’s funny how these people actually don’t understand the game either and have no actual play time. I don’t mind him stating wrong information though I just get to correct him and solidify this threads points. Hopefully Retail can be fixed and WoW can be saved.

RBGs =/= Arena. They’re battlegrounds. So yes, you can have BiS without ever touching any Arena.

Do not touch M+. It’s the most fun game activity WoW has to offer (for me). Nobody is required to do M+. The gear that drops from M+ is not needed to do what OP calls “CONTENT”. That is a silly fallacy. The gear from M+ really only benefits M+ players and raiders to some degree.
You don’t need flying or skips to do M+. Grab key, start group.

RBGs are Ranked play as I stated. You can do them to attain Arena gear since it’s also Ranked gear. Most PvP players don’t want to do that and it has killed the PvP player base in SL.
Which is why they are removing Arena/RBG gear in DF. Again now if only PvE players can get equivalent and Valor vendor with BiS gear where they don’t have to do M+.

Since you can get Conquest capped every week without doing Arena or RBGs. You just need Conquest. So the majority of the PvP player base can now get BiS without ever doing ANY Ranked play such as Arena or RBGs.
This is a good thing as it makes Arena and RBGs about competition since there is no gear reward anymore. Proving my point they removed the pillar of progression from PvP. Something they need to do with M+ so players are there to push higher keys and competition instead of Gear.

This isn’t about me. This is about the game and it’s health. The majority of PvP players hate doing Ranked content for Gear. That is why they have been driven out of the game in SL the worst gearing expansion.
This is why in DF they are returning to the WoD system that had no Arena/RBG gear so the majority of the PvP player base can just play the game and compete if they want to in fair competition.
The correct term is Rated.

M+ is literally carrying the game on its shoulders at this point.
RBGs are a lot more forgiving than arenas in terms of earning rating. I remember grinding it in Season 1 and our MMR was 400 points higher than our actual rating so we never lost any points on losses, but always gained points on wins. Took us 2 nights to slam out 2100 for everyone in the group.
Yep, went to Rival for free 220s through YOLOs in S1. For people who dislike Arena and the sheer number of games it takes to rank up, RBGs are quite the fun replacement.
