Health of M+ system is a top priory for developers and game leadership.
Doesn’t sound like they really understand the problems, or maybe they do but don’t want to fix them.
The biggest news to me is that Ion now oversees modern & classic WoW.

Well, Mythics are optional, and we choose not to deal with the toxic WoW players. GG no more Mythics for me.
These aren’t exactly top tier computer programmers.
Not sure exactly why people expect so much proficiency with 20 years of evidence to the contrary from them…
You already know that news articles like these will say anything to get attention… right…?
No wonder M+ is failing.
Player sentiment is code for: What the top 0.1 % who play the game as a full or part time job think about m+. Maybe care less about what your WoW twitch streamer friends say on Twitter, and care more about the average Wow player?
The irony is of course that this m+ seasonal is pretty much universally despised. So by their own metrics they failed in every single way possible.
Big W for S4 of BFA truthers. We stay winning folks. Warwithin defenders claiming it is impossible to not lose lots of players during the season. When this proves this just isn´t the case? In fact it is possible to not lose players AT ALL, but GROW, the playerbase in m+ during a season if it is good enough.
S4 of BFA is probably one of the least competitive seasons of all time. With absolute joke balance from corruptions, and everyone and their grandmother being able to complete +15s for the best gear.
Let´s conclude this. So when is m+ more popular
A)When it tries to cater to 1 % of the playerbase (Warthin)?
B) Or caters to the everybody? (S4 of BFA)
hmmmmm
, sadly, it seems Ion doesn´t care. Because what matters is sentiment… Not results. Honestly I would respect not caring about results if there was some greater artistic vision to the game, like the Souls games, but there isnt. It is all just slop, and not even good slop at that.
Don’t mind me.
What how? I thought we had charts and graphs indicating it was super populated and the number of keys was super uber duper high? Was this information incorrect? Are players grossly misinformed?
Was the data miscombobulated by bots or trolls? Paid actors?
Stay tuned tonight for the Preach details at 11.
Someone like this so I feel good about myself thanks.

Hypothesis: They won’t save M+ and it’ll continue to plummet until a solo-queue option is added.
It happened to Rated PvP over the years thanks to dwindling participation.
Let’s see if they do the same thing in PvE.
Rated PvP and M+ are comparable in terms of player ability, regardless of which one you think is easier/harder, they are still comparable.
And PvP recently got the solo queue, more people are doing it as a result.
Solo queue hasn´t saved PvP at all though. PvP paticipation has NEVER been worse.
The problem with PvP and M+ are actually identical:
Both game modes are terrible competitively and should therefore never focus on competitiveness, but should instead embrace the game being a progression based MMORPG and focus on fun.
IDK personally it seems like they do understand the problems.
I think the issue is this: they want to design M+ around the majority of people who do M+ and not the top 0.1% of people doing it.
The problem is, in my experience at least, the people in the same boat as me doing lower keys and such, aren’t really leaving tangible feedback on how to tweak M+ for people in non-meta specs and lower keys.
The top 0.1% of people doing keys and giving the devs like, straight up numbers and data points to work with. They can actually make real changes based on evidence with that kind of feedback.
Just saying “this season feels bad for tanks” is something they can take into account, but they can’t really take any action or make any tangible changes in response.
Unfortunately that’s just kind of the nature of any game, and it shouldn’t be expected that every player at every level has that much knowledge to leave that level of feedback.
But yeah, I guess keep that in mind when leaving feedback in the future and you want the devs to listen to the majority of players and not just the top 0.1% of players. Ask for real, concise changes and you don’t need a spreadsheet to back it up, just talk about your own personal experience in the game.
I personally have already engaged far more than prior expansions, went and got three elite sets for my classes thanks to Blitz.
These queues saved Rated PvP because nobody forms groups the old way anymore, and those groups disband after one loss.
BfA and SL, I think both are were worse than now for PvP. You can at least play on your own now, and people indeed are- queues aren’t that long.
With solo, you just don’t worry about it lol.
There’s just several avenues to get gear now, delves, raiding, and M+ all occupying a role in ‘gear progression’ and you can’t really make them all the same.
They’re inherently different content.
Like comparing Arenas to BGs, yeah they’re both PvP, but still different at the same time, and people don’t want to play the same stuff, people have their own niche corners.
I personally LOVE battlegrounds, but hate arenas, and since BG Blitz has been added, I don’t touch Shuffle anymore at all, because I don’t have to anymore!
Before, I had to do Shuffle for any rated PvP, because it’s all there was for a solo player.
Data showing the sharp drop off in dungeon participation of TWW S1. Dungeons run have dropped down to 1/4 of what they were.
Omg we’re lower than DF Season 2 even!
Its shrinking because they keep making it HARDER AND HARDER in the worst ways possible. They nerfed the timer to take off 15 seconds per death. WHY? 5 seconds was fine. One wipe = 90 seconds. aka 1 minute 30seconds. DUMB decision. One wipe+run back kills the run. Then you have everything having both tyrannical and fortified on 10, making it way worse. Its become the most unfun thing in the game!
There is half the dungeon levels available than before. Does this account for that?
Because it seems sort of like a “no duh” sort of discussion about players choosing delves and other types of content over starting at a +10 level difficulty when many didn’t play that level back then.
???
That is to be expected with a longer season, you see how the line for DF Season 2 stops before TWW Season 1? The dropoff in TWW Season 2 is moving at the same rate as DF Season 2.
I’ll never understand why people think super-hard content is gonna be popular- it never was, lmao.
The harder the content = the less are going to do it, always has been this way in any game.
WoW saw the peak of raiding in the early expansions like in Wrath, because it was so easy for everyone to join in on.
And you could carry people no problem, which is necessary in an online game.
It’s only been going down because it’s been getting harder, so we got LFR.
Being an uber-player is cool, but does it really mean much if no one is playing with you? (Because it’s too hard?)
