Hi there
I have been running quite a few M+ and notice that my Interrupt at the end of the dungeon is terrible. I’m looking to improve if anyone has some advice.
here are my problems. I PUGs 95% of my M+ and most of the time no voice is using. so everyone is like do whatever they want lol.
Mage interrupt spell is on a 24s cd.
when the tank pull and the target is casting and I hit the interrupt button key bind, someone just did it before me … so I can’t use it for the next 24s, it happened so many times that I almost thought that I wasted so much time to hit the interrupt buttons for nothing. and at the end of the run, my Interrupt looks bad.
How do I improve interrupt in PUGs?
There’s really nothing you can do about overlapping interrupt cd’s. Most pugs aren’t going to discuss kick rotations, or at least not the ones that I’ve been in lol. Maybe for certain mobs/bosses but even that’s a bit rare.
My only advice would be to wait a bit later in the cast before you try to kick it. In my experience most people kick pretty early into the cast. Hopefully you won’t waste as many that way.
Simply put, if the dungeon was successfully completed, don’t fret. If you want to have high interrupts for a specific dungeon, the best way is to organize a kick order, and take the conduit which reduces Counterspell cooldown on succcessful kicks.
Your tanks/melee are not wrong to kick before you can. Their kicks are usually on a much shorter cooldown so it makes sense for them to spam them. If they have things under control the best thing you can do is focus on getting the damage out, while keeping your Counterspell as a backup for something that needs to be interrupted at range or something that was missed by the melee group.
Try out the OmniCD addon. It lets you see your party’s interrupts and their present cooldowns, in progress bar form. It should show up automatically in dungeons once you have it installed. Like people said, typically melee should always use their interrupts before casters have to use theirs.
