M+ in built scoring system

EDIT: The only players that are saying this is bad and do not need this to be in game seem to only be those who do not know why we are even asking for these metrics I.E. Players who have completed minimal low M+ keys, or non at all, and have the same in raids.

Why do you say a system is not needed when you do not even know why we are asking for this system in the first place? Do you really think completing an M10, especially this week, is so super easy anyone with some decent gear will know what to do?

I would love to see a raider type scoring system built into the game and a few changes around how group finder works. The idea is a good one, but limited and a little slow as it is an external addon and not offered direct by Blizzard.

What I would like to see is:

  • Armoury page showing more than just the best run on time, or highest key if all runs have failed time, something that shows an overview of best and highest.
  • An in depth run down of all runs completed on the armoury page.
  • A way for players to see who is in my group on group finder, allowing them to see what runs everyone in the party has completed and in what times.
  • iLVL of all players in the group in group finder.
  • What raid bosses have been downed and how many times, the same information in the armoury, but in game.
  • Players iLVL and current spec.

Unless I am missing something I have to go to an external page to see the information on M+ runs completed by my own character. All I see now is the best of each one according to Blizzard, I may want to know someones highest key, even if it is a failed time.

When using group finder currently we can only see who the group leader is and what their scores are on M+ along with their main should they have one that is higher scored.

We don’t know if someone in the group is low scored, low iLVL, nor do we know if someone is high scored and geared. And for those who don’t even use raider all they see is the leaders name and iLVL, it tells them nothing about the group they are looking to join.

FYI - I run my own keys and that of guildies more than using group finder, but I wouldn’t mind showing randoms what group they are getting into, it would better inform them on what they are getting into and possibly how the run may go.

And for those of you who have issues looking for groups, you can better see what is available, thus finding a group closer to your skill, score and iLVL so you don’t get knocked back as often.

There is a lot of information that can be obtained from external addons, so why is it that Blizzard have not implemented their own information into their own game? I just think it would be nice to have more in game visibility on players without relying on addons all the time.

P.S. I have ran 11 keys in the last 2 days, mostly guildies, some random keys, some my own keys, some guldies keys, some failed time, overall I had fun doing them, I don’t have issues getting groups or finishing dungeons.

If I’m blizzard, why would I spend time and money to make a system that others will make for free?

To make a better one. The current one works… kinda. It’s like having a leaky faucet and only having a ball-peen hammer to fix it. It’s not the most optimal tool, but it’s a tool.

They did the same thing for Quest Helper addons.

For the same reason you can see your item level now?

Gotta agree with this blizzard would just make a inferior system to what we have.

What the did is so far inferior to WQGF it is not even fair to say them in the same forum thread.

But they did spend time and money to make a similar system. The quality of said system is not in question.

The current system is not good. If they made something inferior to that, I wouldn’t even know what to say.

Yeah, they did, and the quality is not in question. I posted above about them integrating ilevel as well, so i am in agreement with you.

It just had to be said how horrid the system is compared to WQGF. Still bummed about them breaking that. Oh well

Last time Blizzard caved and gave people iLvl people still cried so they created something like Raider IO.

Put Raider IO into the game and people will look for other ways to exclude people they do not consider good enough from the game.

The game needs to attract new players not look for ways to exclude them from content due to a stupid thing that effectively a social score.

What us wrong with the current system?

Yup completely destroying it

So go ahead blizzard incorporate it :rofl:

Flawed metrics. Far too subjective and far too many people who are not good at analyzing metrics, which cause good players to be alienated from content that their gear and skill are more than adequate for.

More to topic, I would imagine Blizzard would be cautious to incorporate an addon that a not insignificant portion of the population think should be removed. Things, like quest aides, that helped everyone got put into the game base system.

Nah, they don’t care

In what way?

People would have the same information in a new system unless they choose to omit information that would make the new system inferior.

In what way what?

They would only have the same information if it was implemented in the exact same way, which would be asinine. If they omitted information and made it worse, that would be a complete waste of development time.

I don’t disagree. But realistically, there’s little incentive for Blizzard to make a system that someone else is already maintaining.

I do understand your point. I guess it depends on how successful they want M+ to be. If it’s on the back burner then sure, let someone else do the work and not have to pay their salary, especially considering the corners being cut lately.
