Make AOE great again.
I think it’s the opposite. They’ve got this idea that what is unfun for a competitive player must be fun for a casual player and vice versa, so they’ll make something deliberately bad because it upsets the professional players without realizing it also upsets the average player as well.
They see big pog players doing big hype pulls and they think “that must not be something the casuals enjoy” so they nerf AE and add way too many spells to pulls to force smaller pull sizes because they think the average player will enjoy that more, without realizing most casuals love big pulls too.
Just to reiterate in case someone from Blizzard actually bothers to read the forums ever:
Small pulls are absolutely miserable, everyone wants huge uncapped AoE blast sessions. The best affix you ever designed was Reaping. Why? Because it was FUN to slam dozens of mobs at once.
Stop designing garbage dungeons with 3-4 mob packs. Uncap all AoE and give us enormous packs with minimal mechanics to slam through.
Lmao, eyes wide shut.
Fine, everyone who didn’t peak in 2006 wants huge uncapped AoE blast sessions.
Killing ‘all the stuff’ is kinda boring…kill stuff for the sake of killing stuff?
He’s right that percentage in Necrotic Wake is just stupid.
Dungeons used to be good because it was all about killing the boss…now its beat the timer and kill all the trash packs.
Mythic track gear from M+ only comes from the vault from +10 keys so one piece per week IF one of the three happens to be usable even so it’s not infinitely repeatable as some would say.
I wasn’t aware that there are no loot drops until +10.
Nor that people couldn’t equip gear unless it was Mythic track.
M+ dungeons suck.
Playing the same thing over and over again is not fun, besides this is not a dungeon crawler game.
I’m pretty sure the argument someone had earlier on the thread was infinite mythic tier loot.
I have no tears for M+. Speed running dungeons was always Anti WOW to me. I loved the old reg / heroic / Raid setup. Didn’t need 5 tiers of raiding, didn’t need 5 tiers of dungeons. But also that’s what blizz decided to do. So if WOW M+ drops by half in popularity and Delves are the new thing, I’d gladly watch it’s decline. M+ just gave players a reason to not raid any more, just as delves give them a reason to not M+. I am completely aware that M+ gives better gear at the high end, but if they lose popularity and delves gain, maybe that can change one day too.
We do the same raid for 6 months
We do the same M+ dungeons for 6 months
We do the same World content for 6 months
And now we do the same delves for 6 months.
And it used to be worse. We used to do the same dungeons for 2 years.
So if that’s your complaint, Im not sure this game is for you
It’s really a completely pointless thing for them to even say. Basically all you do in WoW is kill things and get loot. You can reduce raids dungeons delves etc to that if you want to make a pointless & reductive argument.
What DOESNT involve killing things and getting loot in WoW? Professions?
I’ve lost my Identity.
Umm. I think key depletion is good until a certain key level. Maybe at 12’s it should stop depleting or something.
Keys not depleting at all though would be bad. There’s no stakes for failure and there needs to be some pass/fail progression into higher keys and their rewards.
I do agree with some of your points though, especially with how enemies are designed where you can only pull so much now before it quickly gets out of hand. I call this out specifically because Ion bragged about “no doors” and their dungeon design. Whether it’s a physical door in the dungeon or a theoretical door between packs, a door is a door in this case.
Reverting the horrifically bad change to AOE stops would be a good start to this. That change like many predicted has only made stops even more valuable.
Any buffs to M+ rewards would have to ensure raid receives buffs to loot. So if they did buff them they’d have to buff raid probably even more. I’m fine with this, loot grinding is kind of a dead concept in the seasonal game. None of its special and we’ve all done the grind for countless years.
Remember way back when wow had no pass / fail mechanic other than did you beat the boss. The simple days when player number were over 12 mil. I do. M+ having extra pass / fail mechanics was a spit in the face of everything that made the game popular in the first place, and only severed to bring it’s player count down. The dungeons never needed stupid timers, or tricky convoluted boss mechanics. Just get a couple friends are go kill some bad guys. Get rid of all the new crap and simplify everything, and the shareholders profits can soar once again.
man you miserable people really just out here like “i hate m+ so much id rather solo delves for lower quality blizzard cheese 616s”
M+ has always been awful. People are just starting to wake up to that thanks to delves being better.
I agree with this. But they have to make everything unfun for the esports crowd
When dungeons didn’t have any scaling difficulties and the rewards were set in stone? Yeah. It was boring compared to today.
Remember when we had dial up? Yeah that sucks too compared to today.
