M+ has lost its identity

Honestly m+ is just awful, I play a beast mastery hunter and yesterday I did two keys both +4 and both times I got roasted for low dps because I’m off meta and bm aoe is broken. One guy went so far as to say I catfished him with my bad dps.

We successfully timed the keys BTW. Why would I want to subject myself to that? How is being treated that way fun or positive in anyway.

I know I’m not going to be running anymore m+ unless it’s with my guild or friends, if I wanted verbal abuse I’d try and get back with my ex.

well up to M6 has lost it’s identity due to delves.

low M is a literal garbage fire of people who think they should be there because ilvl says so.

m6+ is the same as it ever was.

this is the problem. to you success was finishing, to them success was finishing faster / with more loot potentially, than you did.

to all but bleeding edge m+ progression chasers, it’s about maximizing loot/hr. not “yay we didn’t fail completely”

Even an example from the current dungeon pool: If you had a rogue you could shroud to first boss take the orbs and lust. Not much of a point in doing that now considering you’re going to have to come back anyways. They also just removed the orbs to make the dungeon harder or whatever. Used to skip the miniboss depending on composition etc, all this variance for me as a tank player just in NW.

In mists we could shroud skip the entire beginning portion and go to the 4 pack with the big guys and lust or just lust the boss. Mist routing was always largely dependant on maze RNG though at the end…

Don’t even remember siege well tbh (I wasnt a fan of BfA), but I’m sure there were a lot of rogue-comp specific decisions that could come into play like the rest of the dungeons in that expansion.

There isn’t even dialogue at the beginning of runs like there used to be before about what way to pull the mobs. Everyone knows they press W and they either meet the DPS/HPS checks or the fail the key. A large part of my skill expression as a tank and my ability to affect the outcome of a dungeon run has been pruned.

KSM is 2-3 key levels lower than previous seasons with a proper kiss/curse affix that helps you, not some Thundering crap that pugs couldn’t seem to handle.

It definitely is the easiest it’s been, people are just being slapped with a skill issue.

No, they reworked m+ so +10 now is the equivalent of a +20 previously. Also the new affix is more of a hindrance than a help most of the time with the added “benefit” of just making the dungeon 20% harder at higher key levels.

I’m well aware, thanks though. It’s almost like they condensed it because the previous 2-10 were meaningless zug fests where no learning or improvement occurred.

Ah yeah, such a hindrance using an AoE cc once every minute or so for a pseudo lust, such hardships.

They’re also making it wayyyy too hard. Bosses have raid mechanics, 10s and above have BOTH Tyrannical and Fortified at the same time which is just disgusting. 7s and especially 8s already feel too hard, pugging a 10 is going to be quite literally impossible, you have to have a full group of people in Discord together who can coordinate well. That is not what M+ should be. They’re catering to the top 5% of sweaty neckbeards and making M+ a 5 man raid instead of letting it be what it has been.

M+ was at its best in legion and (partially) bfa when the devs treated it like a fun minigame instead of a competitive activity. M+ score was a mistake, so was MDI, so was the M+ titles

Just do the weekly stuff and Great Vault will fully gear you Heroic and eventually Mythic Track items lol. Spend your threads on the missing Tier pieces. Then do +9s for the Guilded Crests. Once everyone is over geared in another week or two. Ez AoTC for most. Profit. Win.

If you’re pissed that after 8 years of m+ being the games main endgame that people who want a challenge but don’t want to be punished by a timer and people who like challenging and meaningful solo content are finally getting some real endgame, then sorry dude, cry me a river.

Not really, he’s just an M+ hater that joins every post he sees on the forums about M+ to complain about raid loot and gaslight people. Just said what everyone else wants to say to him every time they see his name in a forum comment

Fun fact: you’re describing a commonality between everything in WoW. It turns out there’s a lot of killing things and getting loot in this game.

Maybe you’ll learn that there are also differences between the various types of content in the game, regardless of the base similarities?

This is what happens when y’all let the weekly loot box vault and welfare creation catalyst and wow token to craft spark garbage slide.

WoW is a mobile game at this point and blizzard doesn’t want to give you agency over your progression. Just fake agency that’s fomo timegate as progress playing your sub out. There’s no meaning to this fake progression.

M+ was also made worse so people are more accepting of things like raid lockouts which made raiding not worth dealing with others over.

I gave up on the devs a long time ago. They don’t care and are playing politics with corporate.

It’s funny to me how people still defend the decisions blizzard are taking when you can clearly see that everything they do is to slow your progress to make sure you stay subbed longer

The changes they are making to timewalking dungeons says a lot. You won’t be able to pull the whole map anymore because blizzard loves to slow you down

I think I have less issues with the existence of the competitive scene, and more problems with them catering to said players far too much this expansion. No matter what you do, any content will have it’s competition scene.

Speed runs, checking who can get the highest scores, etc… It’s just sort of a natural progression for a lot of people who strive for the dopamine hits from doing well at something.

I’m guilty of the same at times, proving “c-tier” specs are still viable by out DPS’ing FotM players in content with basic class understanding has been my favorite thing to do for ages, beyond the gearing treadmill.

What I have issues with, however, is stuff like Max talking to someone on the dev team for 5 minutes, mentioning one thing in passing (buffs), and a change being implemented the literal next day that nerfed all of the class buffs. The moment one of the “top 1% streamers” has a minor complaint, they bend the knee instantly. But a large chunk of the player base is unhappy with your approach and begging you to stop? Lmao, whatever.
