M+ community is utter trash

I honestly have never came across a community who plays the same game I do, but thinks they are holier than thou than the M+ community.

Healing my first TOTT on a 16, Didn’t realize a certain mechanic. This is also my key, and explained this was my first TOTT at 16 as a healer.

Nothing but blaming the healer (no one died) and instead of explaining it. They just complained and then eventually left. But, mind you, every dps and the tank face tanked mechanics instead of moving out of the way.

I really hope that M+ gear will go the way of pvp, and just be useless in raids and vice versa. Y’all can stay being mad and bricking each other’s keys.

Ive also seen this so many times just being a dps, 1 person thinks it should be sped ran while ignoring mechanics and then leaves. All while dog piling on the tank or healer, and its almost always dps being the absolute most rude people in the game.

What mechanic was it? Last boss and everyone got hit with the tank cone?

M+ probably the least toxic community I’ve come across over every game. Main issue is that most players are on the 15-20 bracket and like most games, when majority same bracket toxicity pops up. Once past that there a lot less. Now going into a 16 tott and not knowing mechanics could be quite hard as most fights are healer checks. Lots of mechanics dps can’t avoid but you have to heal or dispel.

The expectation in a 16 is that you will know the mechanics. However, you said you were up front with that so they should not have reacted so poorly.

I only pug and have yet to see anything really toxic. People could certainly use patience and remember its a team and your goal is to work together and get the key done. Not heap blame on others. Suppose its too much to ask at times with the internet offering anonymity as it does.

Anyway, if it was just the one group for you a bit of an overreact on your part as well. Good to vent i suppose but negative energy breeds negativity

I can’t think of a mechanic as a healer that would differ from a DPS perspective other than dispelling on the 3rd boss (other than obviously having to heal). Maybe they assumed you knew the mechanics and were just saying you’d never ran it as a healer before?

Should have been you leaving if the group was toxic. A bricked key means nothing to a healer, you could just go app to another ToTT key and get an instant invite, unless you don’t really heal and just decided to try it out in a 16 key, which is… ill advised.

You hope millions of people have less gaming options because of an isolated incident? I’ll pray you don’t have a 2nd unsatisfactory key, God knows what you’ll wish then. Lol

It really depends on how good you are nowadays for me its fine because im good at what I do now.

But back in bfa when I was learning how to tank the amount of times I was called a “garbage player” or told to “kill myself” was honestly quite a high number.

Essentially if your new the community will bully you for not being “up to their standards”

Report people who say that. In some countries they could be in for a serious wake up call when they have the police knocking on their door ready to charge them with encouraging suicide.

Doubt a random comment like that would result in that however definitely there would be potential account sanctions.

One of the things that bothers me is that no matter how mad I get or frustrated with not accomplishing goals, I will never call strangers names or disrespect someone unless they do something first to deserve it.

Right, it’d just be nice if people had to actually put some thought into it before casually throwing out such comments. People prone to that sort of behavior have likely never faced any truly serious situation in their lives though.

Imagine the looks on people’s faces if the scummy racist trash talk they spout on voice chat in Call of Duty or Fortnite suddenly landed them in hot water for hate speech. Oops, just got a little too real, did it?

Probably, but it’s more likely that’s just how internet stuff works. It’s so easy to say something or try to feel better by hurting a pixel stranger. There are no consequences generally speaking and that is in/out of games and wow.

This aspect of playing with others bothers me since I really don’t enjoy doing that to anyone.

I main healer and don’t even care for the toxicity. I’m practically insta-queue lol. My issue is the lack of penality when one person dies whether they stood in red or I couldn’t pop the heal to them or whatever. Ruins the whole run and you’re down a key level because someone bounced. I feel like with lfr there should be a penalty timer. May encourage people to work together a bit more then to dump on each other.

I bring a friend who two to mythic plus and I have a great time.

Pugs are rough, you will run into many bad apples… and maybe even some good ones that will become good friends.

You can’t base all of the mythic plus player base around a few keys.

Sorry you had a bad experience, but wishing for a PVE game mode to suddenly become useless isn’t exactly community building, either.

I have a lot of experience as a pug healer on resto sham. When you PUG as a healer you hate everyone and everyone hates you.

The same people you are babysitting throughout the entire dungeon (who probably haven’t pressed an interrupt or personal defensive the entire time) are blaming you for dying. This will never change.

In a typical DPS’ squirrel brain.
-All of your spells are lay on hands, insta-cast full heals
-Dispel has no cooldown
-if they aren’t being one-shot there is no incentive to press a defensive or avoid damage
-if one person criticizes the healer, the group also needs their 2 cents
-if they’re dying every other pull but no one else is, its the healer’s fault

Some days I just preemptively place my entire group on the ignore list.

not knowing mechanics is not a valid reason when you have wow head and youtube giving you all the info to go in with enough of an understanding to do a 16.

I love this person and i’m a die-heard tank. i must play with you LOL

welcome to what happens when you make end game a stupid competitive mode, M+ toxicity is one of the main reasons why end game has suffered in wow for a long time, raiding sucks gear wise and mythic + is a nightmare if you dont have a guild or friends to go with you.

Thankfully there is discord servers now dedicated to chill only groups for mythic, but seriously you shouldnt have to have crap like this if you actually made Mythic + more challenge focused and fun instead of time focused score garbage and then you get punished by even your key de-ranks, or people get so pissed they leave essentially wasting everyones time and killing your key. The obbession of score is one of the big reasons it casues toxic players.

Starts off by spreading misinformation, then finishes by hoping half the teenagers in the world see jail time. Lol

The person you’re quoting said nothing about “half the teenagers in the world” seeing “jail time”. Being charged for such offenses would most likely incur a fine, or some sort of community service, assuming the police go through with charging and prosecution, and don’t just give the person a warning. It’s a weird escalation on your part.

And if actually half the teenagers in the world are making racist threats, or encouraging self-harm (I doubt the number is anywhere near that high), it’d kinda be a pretty big problem that probably does need severe corrective action. That’s not exactly “normal”, or “acceptable” behaviour.

You spend much time playing games or just yapping on forums about them? Neither of those things are rare.

What’s weird is the amount of dumb people in this world that speak with confidence.

Without even getting into the reasons it would be hard to prosecute, let’s just settle on it would require Blizzard to track down people’s local PD and give them the info to begin with, and Blizzard can’t even churn out tuning in a timely fashion.
