I can tell you that as a healer I would never ever Que for a m+ run. I want to see see and filter the people I’m going to play with. There are just way too many bad players out there.
I also switched from dps to heals. It is so much easier to get into organized content as a healer. I, like you, have time constraints so I moved off of dps and into healing.
I don’t regret it a bit. In fact I now enjoy healing more than dpsing….
Scores kinda low for a role with so much competition, id say try and make a healer or tank friend in 9s and then continue with them as they get 10s, or if youre doing 9s and the group was good enough to +2 them ask if theyre gonna keep it going to see if you can slot in there.
Theres just a lot of you, listing a 10 will get you every dps from 1600 to 3k signing up, and then with affixes meaning some weeks no one wants you without a cleanse, or if you cant solo cc all the orbs its pretty rough if youre not ahead of the curve and meta.
Idk if itd work for dps but as a healer comming late to the 10s party my strat was just to sign up for groups with the most off-meta tank(it was brewmasters) on mondays. Id notice theyd be sitting their for a while and figured theyd be kinda desperate to get their weekly vault done so willing to gamble on a healer who was still missing some 9s, worked perfect.
They already did this tho, delves are significantly easier than grouped content and award the same track of gear as timed +6’s. So many content forms offer hero gear outside of M+ dungeons
I came here to advertise them after reading the op, lol
But there’s really no advice for you op, other than make friends or join a guild/community. Whenever I list a weekly 10, 100 DPS sign up with better credentials than yours.
At this point in season you should be aotc/3k io basically. I get invited to everything pretty much instantly now, but yeah climb early or you’re screwed. You still need to farm rating. You can run your own keys and tank or heal to make it way faster.
I understand the time management, I have a gf and a son and work 13 hour days. I’ve already accomplished my goals and quit the season, the time management is exhausting. Always start M+ as soon as its available and climb as early as possible, same with raid.
It only gets harder later on to get groups because the thought process is that you should have already done the content by now and there is a limitless pool of players that have done exactly that at this point.
Since Blizzard keeps making changes that can be predicted to (and actually do) decrease the participation of healers and tanks, it’s reasonable to assume that this is their intent. Probably they will continue to double down until they get different results.
So im not bashing on you, but when i see these credentials pop up for my groups i stop and think: why are they mythic gear ilvl but at a +6 keystone level io score??
Looks a lot like hard carries. Not saying you were. Best thing you can do is push your own key or round out some missing keys to push into 2500io
Lost a +13 ToP because tank decided to double pull (first room and hallway) in Gorechops section which wiped everyone, healer 3 times. We were on time to time it too, until that wipe
Make sure to run them all at 9s first, then as you clear 10s, do all of the 10s, don’t run the same one over and over for loot, it’ll help a lot in the long run.
If you have another character that you’ve gotten higher io score on, make sure to link it on raiderio, it matters a lot. Granted you might not be an amazing lock if your main was a hpriest or whatever, but it can prove you at least know fundamentals.
Other than that, you could send a note (I always interrupt, ss, flask, lock rocks multiple times a dungeon etc), for some people that little bit of effort will get you an invite.
Because they pop their CD early. PuGs are trigger happy and use an AoE stop early in the pull, so everything resets to the exact same timer, and Monks get chunked. If they save it for after the stop, then they get a lot larger shield
Thats what ive noticed as a healer for monks in that dungeon
Monks do well with large singular hits (raids and tank busters). Death by a thousand papercuts is monks weakness. Stagger + constant white damage hurts in the long run
Monks excel in groups that understand how to CC/help monks kite
Edit: and since most people cant even properly master their dps rotation, finding someone to complement a monk in such a way is…well, a diamond in the rough
