I wouldn’t be buying your gear. In fact, I probably wouldn’t even supporting your raid content because on principal I would find another game.
There is such a thing as being too greedy.

You must be super new to the game.
Apparently people haven’t figured out that this is how it used to be.
Patterns would drop in raids.
Raiders would craft the items from the said patterns
non raiders and new raiders would buy said gear.
Yes and they changed that system as well as provided an alternate gear path to people doing world content. I can get 450s doing emissaries what the heck do I want with your crappy profession gear.
Wow, the density is strong with you huh?
If a heroic raid drops ilvl 500. The pattern dropped in that raid would also be for crafting ilvl 500 items.
before you try to say that raids don’t drop ilvl 500 stuff. It’s called an example.
Yes right they will do that.
Also please remind me when this is how it was because I have played over 9 years and I don’t recall ever having to buy crafted gear from raiders.
Why would you want to make and sell gear to people who don’t deserve the item level? It seems pretty obvious you don’t want people who don’t deserve something to have it. So why would you suggest it?
But you’re willing to sell it to anyone.
And my raiding toon won’t craft those herself because by the time she’s finished upgrading the forge, she’ll already have better gear.
If all of it is BoE that’s fine. The patterns, the mats, the gear. In BC I remember making BiS shoulders without having done any real raiding, I bought the pattern and the raid-drop mats from people who did, I was fine with that. Just like they decided to make nether vortexes tradable so I could craft my Lionheart Executioner.
It would take a lot more than a few top tier raid/dungeon gated items to make crafting great again though. Back in the day crafting was its own form of content, in many other mmo’s there are people who play specifically to craft. It has become a joke in WoW.
I’m sorry to say, but this part, I disagree with completely. The ability to craft and access items entirely should never be locked behind some arbitrary wall of player ability or desire.
Mats in a dungeon run? Tied in with keys or puzzles to enhance a crafter’s sense of achievement? Makes sense, it’s quite RP based.
Placing said mats on some dumb casino wheel (presumably somewhere in the 5 or 7 range), just to artificially boost the pool of M+ players available to you? You not only emphasize how lame M+ truly is, but you stand to annihilate the pool of players you hope to boost.
And if your goal truly IS to segregate players based on your foolishly arbitrary elitism, then I ask that you stop trying to dress your idea as something idyllic. RP-wise, all gear was crafted at some point. Do you think all those crafters played M+ pinball like you, just to dream up better stuff for you?
Engineering azerite googles and plasma shield for belt are extremely useful
We already have critical mats coming from raids/M+.
Raiders way back in the day, balked at the idea that dedicated crafters got stat and ability boosts based on their professional degree. They were so adamant that only they could be “optimal” in late game runs, and since raiders wanted to focus on raiding and not “being forced to learn a profession” for the buffs, they demanded the buffs be removed from the game.
Since crafters were basically here to serve them, and not have a +4 or 5 point higher stat during the f’ing Heigan dance or whatever.
Blizzard gave in to them.
Ever since, professions have fallen more and more, until they’ve reached the poor state they exist in now. I’ll never, ever forgive Blizzard for being so weak against these so-called ‘hardcores’.
BoP stuff usuable only by the person that made them are stupid and don’t count.
you’re question was name a craftable profession. So I gave you 1. You never once said about things can be sold
Also: Engineering brez
In my opinion I believe that instead of having different types of materials it would be better to increase amount of mats based on the difficulty of the content.
This way those that have no desire to do M+ can still craft albeit in lesser quantities.
oh boy. release the SJW’s!
Nevermind…already activated.
