So according to this docs. google .com /spreadsheets/d/1vkY_vw7RnnONSz7omUqM0zGw32mr3LjG0ZysP-Kc4vU/edit#gid=0) [Spreadsheet]
The cost for 5pc lvl 70 blue honor set (with resilience) will cost 86k honor. People who abused the bugged honor rates will be able to buy 4/5 of that set off the bat when they hit lvl 70. People who were not able to play all night on patch release will be literally -weeks- behind on gearing and will begin arena season 1 with 100 resilience less than the “honor bug abusers”.
This issue has moved beyond disposable welfare epics which will be replaced at lvl 64 and lead to some players having BiS pre-s1 PVP gear with over 100 resilience more than others who will be stuck grinding honor on top of unlocking reputations for attunements… In addition to the arena rating changes that blizzard has proceeded to make (rating starts at 0 instead of 1500) prolonging the time it takes for the average PvPer to be able to buy s1 epic pieces thus raising the value and longevity of the honor set . Creating an unfair advantage outright for bug abusers. Any thoughts?
It’s another case of patch misalignment…
We are getting lvl 60 bracket honor being in patch 2.4.3… when we should be getting classic era honor per kills.
Or they could let us have fun and revert it to the OP honor levels it was at.
At least give us correct honor per kill as it was in the original pre-patch…
Being in the wrath system greatly increases the rate at which the ‘average pvper’ can complete arena sets because ratings have a far higher ceiling, the ratings inflate very quickly, 1800 in tbc is much harder than 1800 in wrath, increased arena points rather than reduced
imo admit mistakes were made, revert the changes in honor accumulation, announce a honor wipe upon /ding level 70 and move on to fixing the other aspects of the game in need of attention
I apologize if I offended you, and that was not my intention. I am simply highlighting the unfair advantages of people who grinded their 75k honor cap in 1 day vs people who will have to spend 10x the amount of time to do the same. Since Blizzard has already implemented changes that they believe will enhance the PvP experience come arena season 1, I am wondering what they and fellow players feel about this soon-to-come gear discrepancy. I for one think it’s inherently unfair and I believe that they should do a honor wipe on launch providing a warning and ample time for players who stockpiled to spend their honor on lvl 60 gear.
yeah thats what i hope as well, but they need to let us know by end of working hours today in my oppinion so ppl can decide and enjoy the weekend grinding or not
they dont make the game for average players anymore if your not a streamer and your not promoting thier game playing 24hours a day they dont care thats who that cater to and it shows hard.
A ton of players are going to legitimately grind out an honor cap and had even been working on it after the nerf on 1x honor rates. It’s not good to delete 50-100 hrs of work of many players just cause others got it done in 5-10 hours.
If you didn’t cap honor during that time, you were never gonna make it in the first place. Cutting edge people have their whole path to 70 and raiding planned out meticulously and they will do any immoral damn thing to be ahead.
It sucks, but after Blizz is changing it to 2x honor if you were really going to be serious about grinding out good gear during TBC you still have time to grind it out now as well. I only got in 2 BGs before they nerfed honor, and plan to cap honor in pre patch.
A lot of the honor lvl 70 items are also not as good in PvP as people think. Resilience doesn’t make an item automatically better in PvP than items without, many of the lvl 70 honor pieces are outclassed in PvP from items from dungeons, badges, and professions. Without even counting that the vast majority is outclassed in PvP by raid gear, most of the honor gear simply isn’t that amazing compared to a lot of easy to farm stuff (and thus much less relevant when arenas open up after 2 weeks).
Ofc there are a few good pieces in there, but you shouldn’t have too much trouble farming up the honor for those few during pre patch (depending on class).
Honestly I don’t care about the honor change, fix, nerf or exploit. It’s PvP gear and I remember the stigma that came with it last time in TBC. If you are a hardcore PvPer on a PvP server then sure… But for everyone else we have to save up two sets of gear anyways.
