I don’t understand that being at this level (59) and on many other toon around half way to 60, that I don’t see quest in other zones. Just in bastion. Yet I can fly to these zones but there is nothing there to start me on a quest. This has to be the worst xpac since WoD . Would someone help me out here?
Are you on the story campaign or threads of fate?
Sadly I did not mention that I did lots of timewalking to get me up to 57 and did two level of bg’s. I’m only on Chapter one of Bastion. I’m an olde man that don’t even know what is the difference of Campaign or threads of fate. Was Threads the so called starting zone in shadowlands?
Honestly I never seen anything so bad like this expansion has shown. All because of the virus? Should of just let us customers keep playing bfa for another year.
Anyhow, Thanks for your time Marwenna.
No worries! Every expansion brings a lot of changes with it and takes some time to get accustomed to the new process. What you’ll need to do is make sure you take one character through the entire campaign progressing from Bastion to Maldraxxus, Ardenweald, then Revendreth in order. Campaign quests are noted by a special exclamation point with a shield around it.
All the other quests are optional. You’ll need to finish one zone to progress to the other. Because you have outleveled a lot of the zones, you may have a hard time doing the dungeon quests on your first character and I wouldn’t worry as much about those as you don’t need them to progress. Just focus on finishing the story.
At the end of the campaign, your main character will be able to choose a covenant. Once that character has completed the first chapter of their covenant campaign, all other alts will be able to choose a different leveling path called Threads of Fate. Essentially, it marks all campaign quests for those alts as completed, and side quests, world quests, bonus objectives, battlegrounds, dungeons, etc. are available as leveling paths making it much more flexible. The alts can also choose a covenant as soon as they get to Oribos rather than waiting. They can start gaining reputation with factions, as well as anima and renown for their chosen covenant earlier than 60. If you have started on the campaign with any of them, you can convert to threads of fate on alts at any time, but you can’t return to the campaign. It’s nice to not have to repeat the campaign multiple times in this way, though.
I hope that helps somewhat.
Thanks. I had to read the last part over a second time to somewhat understand. So I guess I have to go onto one of my mains that I went pretty far. Well at least I was in a second zone doing quests. That way I can get to the end of all the zone chapters quicker. Thanks for responding to my question.
You’re welcome! Yes, I would try to get through the whole thing on one and I think you’ll have a better time with the others. Best of luck.
