Yeah, i can see how older(age) players may want to try it out and have issues with controls and such like they still use the keyboard to turn and such. They might def get discouraged.
No fun to twink if you only have 4 spells or abilities and kill Steven Stevenson 49 of ohio just became crippled and never played a pc game in his life…
But i hope you level 19 twinks have fun using all them skillz u got
First off, twinks aren’t going to be a thing until years from now when people have geared 60s with ample enough funds to buy the gear and enchants with which to twink.
Secondly, there’s no experience awarded in BGs in Classic. Anyone who is in there is there because they want to be there, not because they’re leveling. You want to be there, you take the good with the bad.
So I’m confused you must be talking about new people starting in Phase 3 which is likely to be 6-8 months after launch?
And if you’re starting 6-8 months after any games launch I’d expect you to realize on your own your gunna be behind on every aspect of game so why cry about it?
Oh so you do speak english, thought for a second there you only spoke troll.
Well id sai about a year people will start doing that… not years… this isnt Naxx.
And players should be encouraged to start and have a smooth experience without pewpew kids pretending they are good using enchants for lvl 60 and clicking two buttons anyways… but to each their own… seems bland and pointless to me…
39 twinking or 49 seems better sounding to me if i did it at all
Oh my god, “new” people to the game will man up and learn that Wow is like life, it’s not fair. Some are better players, richer and have more time. If you don’t like this, don’t play an MMORPG and play Skyrim for god sake …
Pointless QQ. More than half the fun of playing an MMO is actually to play against other players. If your experience is ruined because you get destroyed the issue is not with the other players but with you.
So most discussion on this forum just devolves into trolling and name-calling, but I’m gunna try and jump in here anyway.
I twinked the 19 bracket in Vanilla. When I first jumped into BG’s at the early levels I was extremely disheartened; I won’t deny that. It doesn’t feel good to get sass-blasted by every other person you encounter. But, if we’re honest, that would have happened to me whether there were twinks or not. A level 14 mage is going to die in less than two seconds to a 19 hunter almost regardless of gear.
But, after braving the storm another time or two, the non-twinks in those BG’s really start to develop these weird relationships with the twinks on their team. It feels like you’re a commoner in ancient Greece watching as your Hercules takes on their Hydra. You follow your twinks around and throw pot-shots at their twinks, and feel like you’ve helped your side win, even as you fall dead at the feet of your would-be protector.
When my main finally hit 60 and I was able to devote resources to making a twink of my own, I really understood what twinking is about. Really, it’s like a concentrated version of endgame PvP. You all have, more or less, the best gear and limited abilities, so it’s just a rock-paper-scissors skill-check. And it’s fun. You get to be the God protecting your people.
And this is to say nothing of the community, which is awesome. You know your opponents. You learn who to respect, who to fear. You learn who has the arena trinket and who doesn’t. I remember feeling so honored when a twink from a prominent Alliance guild talked to me about how cool it was I had twinked a 19 shaman, because they were so dogpoo back then.
Of course, there will be butthurt people who make a twink just to dump on lowbies cause they’re mad it happened to them, but my experience is that most twinkers do it to fight other twinks. They just want to max a character and be able to know it’s maxed. No gear treadmill, no rebalancing. It’s just done, and it’s going to put a hurtin’ on someone.
So really it’s just enchants people have problems with? A 19 rogue who got lucky in deadmines and has defias chest and cruel barb is going to one-shot a clothy 10 too. Are they a twink? Should we make a pact that you can’t equip blue items in battlegrounds until the 40-49 bracket?
Should we all not be sarcastic aholes. Maybe not every person will be rogues that had the luck to get the barb. Maybe that level 10 mage or clothy gets some boom boom time against another level 10 lock non twink…
I still dont see why we cant just twink at higher levels and let newbs do their thing… there is plenty of “learning” even if twink arent involved. You dont get a chance when every encounter you are 1 shot.
Edit: Stop with the emotional appeal. We don’t care. If you go into a lowbie bracket at the beginning of the bracket, you deserve to get your face wrecked, newbie or not.
A twink has everything, so yes blues that a normal person leveling is one of them. The other is end game enchants, higher level quest items and gurabashi, professions are usually maxed to level, etc. Just being in good gear doesn’t deem someone a twink.
