Lust and soak?

Can someone please explain both to me.

What is lust?

What is soak?

Is there a skill to do one or none of these? If so what?

I want to learn to be better and know what people say when they scream this out, if I am missing something.

“Lust” is the Horde version of “Hero”, “Soak” typically means to stand in something that if it isn’t done, will do huge damage to the group.

Lust refers to “Bloodlust” a spell used by Horde Shamans that gives the entire party/raid 30% more haste. Heroism is the Alliance Shaman version. Other classes have the same spell under a different name, they are: mage, evoker, and hunter (specifically using a ferocity pet).

Soaks are mechanics that you need to stand in, be it to share the damage between everyone (Keeper Tyr in Dawn of the Infinite has this) or just something you gotta stand in until it’s gone (the patches of grass Nymue puts out are an example of this).

The thing mormons do?

It’s actually a mispelling of Time Warp which you should allow the mage to cast at their discretion to maximize their damage.

You cuddle until you get hit.

Lust: raid-wide haste buff, refers to Bloodlust, as well as Heroism, Time Warp, Primal Rage, and Fury of the Aspects

Soak: stand in the thing to absorb its damage, usually in order to prevent it from exploding on the entire raid

Time Warp is the St. Anger of haste buffs.

All of these definitions are great and OPs mog is amazingly hilarious. Have fun raiding!

I do not get it.

But I can use and benefit from Time Warp 3 times in the span of any other haste buff, so anything less is… lesser.

That is…accurate on so many levels.

I swear even super high IO players ALWAYS trolling with this. Do people NOT know that mages get two time warps?

LET THE MAGE USE IT!!! someone else casting it has screwed my damage over so many times.

I mean: I cast it right after they’ve already casted it/ basically at the same time which puts my time warp on CD and I can no longer benefit from the talent.

Oh no.
We do.
It’s intentional.

Is that actually the play? I was clowning mainly. Like, is it a net gain for a good mage to control lust to maximize their dps?

Not that I am that good mage. But I’m genuinely curious.

If there’s two or more people that can use lust/warp then yeah, it’s best to just let the mage do it. It can be done if someone else does it but I don’t really think that makes sense.

You can check out the website mythictrap and browse through some raid fights, they show videos of what soaks look like to give you an idea of what the visuals typically look like. Smolderon has a good example of what a multiple-player soak looks like and Tindral has a couple examples of solo soaks.

Lust and soak, the WoW version of Netflix and chill.
