There are several order hall mounts with multiple tints that can be used on any spec. Paladin chargers, Hunter wolfhawks, Warlock dreadsteeds. Please allow players to pick which tint of lunarwing form they prefer on the barber shop. There is no difference in the form itself other than colors (no tauren horns, etc). There is no reason to force trolls to be pink. This would be my forever choice of flight form if I could choose which of the tints to have equipped like all of the other shapeshift options. That is all.
its a good idea.
The race determines the tint…
Sort of. New races didn’t get a new tint because they didn’t care to do it. KT also didn’t get an epic flight form because they stopped caring.
But yeah, it more or less follows the other flight form colorations that are race specific.
I would love this option given the only Druid I have that gets a color I like is the Zandalari Troll, the Highmountain Tauren and the Kul Tiran colors are bleh.
I agree, however, the Allied races received new forms while the vanilla races languish and only have artifact transmogs for variety. It would be nice for Blizz to revisit druid forms again. I think the last time was Cata? I would personally like to see a “form copy” ability or consumable so that we can go out in the world and copy bear/cat/travel forms kind of like a hunter taming a pet.
I’m not sure what that has to do with what we were discussing, but okay, sure. More options is good.
I agree. This character has black skin and I would prefer to use the black lunarwing tint.
Worgens are white and Night Elves are black, which a lot of people have always assumed was a careless mistake on Blizzard’s part.
Nelf Lunarwing is purple. Which makes sense to me. White Worgen Lunarwing doesn’t. So I get that.
The race determines the tint arbitrarily. There’s no reason why a worgen MUST be white or a troll MUST be pink. There aren’t even the tattoo differences or horns that are the racial flavor of the OG flight forms. In addition, pink makes literally no sense for a zandalari troll since all of their hair/skin colors are neutral to brown/black/green.
I only mentioned it because it is unlikely they’ll change that fact since the color for the form follows the idea behind the racial individuality of the other forms in that the players can determine the race by the color.
It fits the general aesthetic of the race.
But as I said in the OP, there are at least 4 other classes with 3+ tints that are not spec-specific. And now that there are 2 new druid races, and many of the races you could certainly justify any of the 4 tints on, why not just unlock them for player agency?
It would be one thing if they’d done specific model tweaks for specific races (i.e. the tattoos/antlers on nelf forms or horns on tauren), but literally the only difference is color-scheme. And having a white worgen lunarwing for a brown worgen, or a brown tauren for a light grey tauren is arbitrarily inconsistent.
Basically I don’t feel there’s a concrete justification why they shouldn’t unlock the tints, and there’s plenty of evidence that they don’t mind classes having multiple tints of their order hall mounts (or for druids, having access to artifact forms on specs those artifacts are not for). So since they’re already putting shapeshift forms of all types on the barber, add all 4 lunarwings to the barber and let worgen be pink if they want.
Again, It’s part of the race’s aesthetic. It follows the convention of every other transformation, save those like cheetah that don’t have tints at all.
They might not mind a class having multiple tints for their mounts, but they do mind races having the same tint for their transformations. You could argue that they should give us new colours to pick (like say orange, pink and green for troll and white, silver and royal blue for worgen), but sharing the colours is not something that fits the way blizzard treats druids.
The change in colour might be small but it’s what blizzard uses to make races somewhat different and that is a cool thing overall.
How does a white bird vs a purple bird have anything to do with the aesthetic? No other Worgen flight form is white. And KT got white, too. Arbitrary.
Moonkin worgen form has white feathers.
Worgen use dim colours, greys, black and white. Genn himself is a white worgen. It’s in general what fits the gilnean aesthetic. They are a more gothic race if you will.
KT’s obviously got tacked onto the worgen’s because they are also humans, however is not like KT doesn’t share a lot of aesthetic with gilneas, specially Drustvar where the druids come from.
Alright, that’s fair. Good points on Worgen. I think it’s a stretch for KT, just “because human,” when Gilnean forms are based off of the Worgen, not the human. But I guess it’s the only shoehorned explanation we can go with.
Would have rather had Drust. They should’ve kept the ones alive that had sided with humans. Drust could’ve been a step between Vrykul and human size so they weren’t too big. Would’ve been better than crazy tall fat humans.
