The most effing ridiculous thing I’ve ever encountered in this game. They admit it was too hard and they made mistakes with the mechanics but don’t fix them? What horsecrap is that?
I have tried to get easier mazes, I’ve tried to map it out, which is just impossible to do with the effed up mechanics.
So, thanks Blizz, I give up and will never get this mount that I want.
It’s just plain stupidity.

The trick is figuring out where the warp room is. If you can identify and avoid that particular trap the rest can be more or less charted out. But yeah it’s difficult.
When I did it I just brute forced it though and got lucky. In the maze, part of the maze. Sometimes I like to think we never left it and we’re still roaming those halls lost in our minds.

I can’t remember exactly, but wasn’t there an addon to help map it out?
Think the addon was broken some time ago, I remember when I tried to use it, it didn’t work.

I highly recommend https://nightswimmer.github.io/EndlessHalls/
Much better than trying to do it with the addon.

I used an addon that mapped out halls. It got messy with the teleports but doable. Don’t ever pick up the thinga-thangs (forgot what they were) because they are your landmarks. Once you get your full bearings and map marked THEN start picking them up.
It doesn’t seem to work anymore, I remember attempting the maze before and when I would try to back track the way I went. The rooms would be randomized, and 9/10 times I literally would never see
some of a table or orb colors, even after I spent two hours running around. They broke something about it I feel like, or on a individual player basis it bugs out and doesn’t work properly.
In a practical maze your able to back track, given that’s the point of a maze being a finite size and having a set path. With the lucid nightmare one however that doesn’t seem to be the case at all, it seems like it’s just random as to what room you’ll get. In that it’s nearly impossible at times as your playing against RNG, and this game is rife with bad RNG. Along with it simply seems to bug out and not spawn orb or table rooms at all.
I should add the add-on worked when I first tried it, I could back track and everything. Yet I had to log out early and had to redo it, and that’s when it simply seemed to stop working for me. I tried to brute force it but it just simply did not work at all, and I just didn’t want to spend hours upon hours playing roulette with the rooms. Unless they change how it works, I will never step foot in it again.

Are you sure you’re not running into teleports? It can really mess up the map if you don’t know how or where the map takes you.
You might be doing something wrong. I personally found it A-maze-ing and fun!
I mean I guess they could of been the case, yet if I teleport simply going back the way I came should put me back where I am. In which if the teleports don’t work like that then that’s simply a pure fundamental flaw to the maze design as if all mazes constantly shifted. Then they would be nearly impossible to solve without a top down view of it.
There isn’t really a warp room. What happens is if you go off of the map, you teleport to another spot on the map.
You cannot back track from teleports IIRC. It places you into a specific room where the room proceeds left right straight normally. It’s intentionally designed to be a trap.
LOL what a horrible design then honestly, that would be like a edgeless puzzle. Except everytime you place an edge piece the pieces of the puzzle would randomize, making you have to start all over again. Yeah I’m just not gonna touch it again, not into bad designs given its not really a maze but just a version of the Greek mythological labyrinth. To where you pretty much need a map to navigate it properly.
Mazes have edges, mazes have a set design to them. Seeing as the point of a maze is to navigate it, and he able to back track as needed to solve it given it has dead ended, and walls to it. This one does not, it teleports you to boot whenever you find the “edge”, and it simply changes a just a RNG time sink at best, and just a poorly designed “maze” at it’s true form.

That is what makes it hard yeah. Which is why you ended up with maps like this https://addonswow.com/wp-content/themes/addonswow.com/addons/lucid-nightmare-helper/screenshots/lucid-nightmare-helper-scr-3.png
When it’s really like this https://i.imgur.com/kzMb7jO.jpeg
But it’s still not that bad. If you leave the runes as landmarks you can start noticing the pattern even when the map is distorted (as is case in first screenshot). Once you map out runes and practice taking them out you’ll be able to do it. I actually had a lot of fun with the way they made it, it’s a maze after all, I hope they make more like that. But will admit it was frustrating too lol
there was, but I found it easier with a piece of graphing paper

Same, I had the addon, but was doing it with pencil and paper. I was in there for quite a while, but managed. Honestly thought it was kind of fun.
yea I really enjoyed it, the secrets where you have to work to get them were a lot of fun, I hope to see more of them!
it’s actually cool to watch them sleuth it all out in the secrets discord.

If you don’t look like the Charlie Day meme after you’ve solved it, you didn’t do it right
