Lucid dreaming final update

Dear Diary,

I started my rabbit hole back in late January because I have a coworker that claims to lucid dream every night and it makes him feel tired all the time.

I googled it and thought it was absurd hippy nonsense because I remember like one dream a year how can this ever happen to someone let alone make it happen on purpose.

I really fought the idea of writing my dreams down but as soon as I did progress sky rocketed if I didn’t have a dream I would just write that I didn’t remember anything and pretty quickly got to the point where I write 2-3 dreams per night in pretty lengthy detail. The trick was whenever I wake to not move at all and I just think what just happened right before this and it will slowly come back

Around the 1.5 month mark I had a dream where I thought I had woken up to use the bathroom but when I passed a window there were 4 moons this instantly made me realize I was dreaming and I tried to calm myself down but I woke myself up from excitement. What was so weird to me was not just that it’s a real thing but I really felt like I was somewhere physically, the floor was cold the moons shined light it was so bizarre I was hooked.

I’ve had some bizarre night terrors, lots of sleep paralysis and false awakenings that could not be more annoying but it’s been fun watching these obnoxious movies play out while I sleep. But, I decided to take it to the extreme like I always do and create myself a dream potion. Something I can take to produce a lucid dream at will and last night I had a breakthrough.

I’ve done a concerning amount of research and came up with the following taken before bed (DO NOT DO THIS I AM AN INSANE PERSON WITH ACCESS TO THE INTERNET)

Valerian root: helps knock me out and suppresses REM sleep early in the night (rem gets more intense the longer you hold it off and more intense later in the night)
B6 (memory booster)
L thaenine: relaxes you but keeps your mind sharp
5-http: serotonin booster (dream vividness)
Ashwaganda: no idea but everyone talks about it on YouTube
Alpha GPC and Huperzine A (floods you with acetolcholine idk how to spell that) I’m pretty sure this is what your brain suppresses to keep you on auto pilot.

I took all this and went to bed last night when I felt too tired to stay up. I’ll spare the dream details but multiple weird things happened that caused me to do a reality check. I looked at my watch and then covered it with my hand, all the dream characters we’re looking over my shoulder as if my brain is making fun of me and when I checked the time again it was completely different. I felt a similar feeling to jolting awake but I stayed where I was and calmed myself down and tried to get through my checklist of what the internet says is possible. I asked a dream character a question and they responded like a real person not like AI and then I changed the dream character into Rachel Ray because I told Jim that’s what I’d do and no joke the person instantly turned into early 2000s Rachel Ray and I laughed so hard I woke myself up .

Anyways it’s real and possibly the coolest thing you could ever teach yourself to do. The supplements I take are not needed or recommended. So dream rabbit hole is done. Back to conspiracy posting

Just get some malaria pills. Insane lucid dreaming every night while you’re on them.

Like hard-to-differentiate-between-dream-and-reality-upon-waking kind of lucid dreaming.

Ambien too but that’s habit forming and not healthy for sleep long term.

damn thats so awesome

Everyone keeps saying this but idk where you just “get”malaria pills.

Tell your doctor your taking a trip on safari in Kenya.

Anywhere you’d go in Africa you’d need them. Two weeks; you start them 3 days before and take for 3 days after. So that’d be like 3 weeks of malarone or whatever it’s called.

Ambien is good too, also super intense at 10mg. Tell doc you can’t sleep and they’d give you 1-2 weeks of it. Problem with Ambien is possible insomnia rebound after due to chemical dependency building relatively fast.

Is it not quinine anymore

:person_shrugging:

I went in… 2018?

I was prescribed malarone then.

Why would you want to lucid dream? It’s not like they mean anything unless you’re an oracle. Which you’re not btw.

your moms an oracle

Last time i had one i surfed a school bus through the clouds. It was a very short lived and amazing experience.

Why would you not want to do this?

What next? Ethos?

My last one was like that too lol. I realized I was dreaming and made the bus go into the space like an episode of the magic school bus. Probably the most realistic/best dream I’ve ever had.

You can only dream about cartoons. Ahahaha

Uh why not? Next I’m gonna see if grounding is real

Yooooo we all had the crazy dreams on the malaria pills they gave us in 2010 we ended up just throwing them by the handfuls over the hesco barriers 0/10 would not recommend I woke up from a nightmare thinking my arm had been chopped off, turns out I was sleeping on top of it and it and it went to sleep :joy:
