Since the patch, I’ve been getting LUA errors when I report someone and sometimes when I use the auction house. I’ve done at least two (maybe three) full UI resets and I haven’t reinstalled any addons.
I’d like to submit a bug report. Is there any way to copy the error text and paste it into a bug report? I tried Ctrl + C and it didn’t work. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks!
Try a UI reset, as something in there is borked.
I did reset my UI. Two or three times and I’m not using any addons, since I’ve been too lazy to reinstall them.
I did the proper reset, deleted the folders and everything.
LUI errors show something is borked with the UI. If it pops up again, screencap it and post it here. If you cannot post images, upload the image to imgur or some image hosting site, cut and paste the link, highlight it and select preformatted text on the edit window.
so it will show up like this: http://www.null.net
I got Ctrl+C to work. This is the message I get when I report a name.

I still get the Blizzard “Thank you!” box, but I get the error every time. I tried posting to the AH to see if I could get the error to pop up, but it’s really weird and didn’t pop up this time.
Try this. See if a repair will work. Go to your launcher, beside the blue play button, there is a gear icon, click that and select scan and repair.
I’m trying avoid you having to do a full game re-install (that is a last resort)
It got to about 65% and this popped up.
Whoops! Looks like something broke. Give it another shot.
Error Code: BLZBNTAGT00000BB8
I restarted the computer and I’m trying scanning again.
I put Battle.net in my approved section of my antivirus (and I updated the antivirus) and it still stops at around 86% with the error message. I’m not really comfortable uninstalling my antivirus for this. I don’t know what else to do.
I had a Hearthstone update waiting that just went through, no problem.
Rather than uninstalling your antivirus, merely turn it off for the duration of the scan and repair.
Turned the antivirus and firewall off and I’m still getting the error message when I try to update.
Reboot and try.
It got to 98% downloaded, then error code. Thanks for all your help.
This was happening to me the other day, for all three WoW clients (retail, Classic and WotLK Classic). I ended up uninstalling all three clients, then the Battle.net app, restarted computer, reinstalled Battle.net app, then the clients.
I can’t say with certainty that this fixed my issue, but after doing this, the issue was, well, no longer an issue.
If the troubleshooting above didn’t help with this issue. I did find a bug related to the exact LUA error you reported. This plans to currently be fixed in a near future update but sadly the bug report didn’t provide any details on how it occurs to offer you any workarounds. The best workaround, for now, would be to turn off LUA errors and remember to turn them back on after future updates to retest.
- /console scriptErrors 1 to display LUA errors
- /console scriptErrors 0 to hide LUA errors
Thank you.
I don’t know if it’s fixed yet. I uninstalled WoW, Classic, and Battle.net and am reinstalling. I’ll update when it’s done and try to catch the auction house error if I can.
Thanks!
Update: I don’t know if the errors are fixed, but my games have reinstalled. Hurray!
