LUA Errors

I can’t seem to locate how to turn this on and off now that the new UI is in place. I have them turned off and have for a long time but one of my add-ons is giving an error occasionally and want to turn them on to see what one.

The popup says to go to interface options but… nothing is there =O

I use the AdvancedInterfaceOptions addon for that. I think that was one of the interface options removed when they pared down a lot of things from the interface and character pane at the start of BfA.

Bleh. Wanted to use it to find out what was causing the error. I’ll check that add-on you mentioned after work. Thanks.

Bugsack is also solid for catching and storing errors!

You can get Bug Grabber and Bug Sack. One will stop the errors from popping up and redirect them to the “Sack”, where you can then look at them later to see what is broken.

So is there a way to just make them not show up? Damn if they get annoying when its the same one.

Edit: Never mind, poster above me just got me.

Yeah I want to know what add-on specifically is making the error and maybe shut it off and I want to do it without testing them one by one lol.

I’ll try out some of these suggestions.

Thanks to everyone that replied. Bug Grabber and Bug Sack was exactly what I needed and things have sped up finding the 4 add-ons I needed to turn off for now.

They started pruning alot of ui (interface and character panel) options with legion, you can check on curse for AIO and see the alpha/beta cycle occurring through beta with a release for legion prepatch.

As to op, lua errors without bugsack/buggrabber would just tell you that X had a failure and recommend to reload (along with too many error chat spam). Highly recommended at this point to just grab a lua error addon (like the aforementioned) to narrow things down better.

I wish the new UI was worth using. I am sure they could get someone that makes the mods to make a real good UI. Its a damn shame that an AAA game design company can’t make a top notch UI.

Yeah I’m still pretty much using the same UI add ons. When I read on the forums that there were still things we couldn’t move, I decided to just keep them when I got on.

/console scriptErrors 1 to pop open the LUA error window, /console scriptErrors 0 to close it again. Hope this helps.
