Was having an issue with one of my addons, done some trouble shooting, decided to repair the game and run it fresh with zero addons and when I opened my mailbox I got an error.

Try this:
/console scriptErrors 0
It’ll disable those annoying LUA popups.
This ^ I was having the same issue on Cata Classic. Tried disabling my add-ons and still got similar errors when using the AH.
That console command fixed most of the issues.
It’s not about disabling them, it’s about why is there even an LUA error when I am running a full stock game?
Yeh but we shouldn’t even have the error to begin with.
Because many UI elements, even stock ones, are Addons, as you can see from the error message.
And those addons interact with others you might have installed, even if disabled.
As a matter of fact, using an addon (Warmup) to measure loading screen times, I had one official addon (Blizzard Battleground Map) take over 30s to load.
Generally speaking, this usually means that there’s still some element of that addon left behind that is causing an issue. That said, it could also be that something has lead to your standard UI (addons disabled) that is still causing an error.
Simply turning off the error message won’t actually “fix” anything. If you’re not running any addons currently, then the most efficient way to reset everything to stock (and almost certainly correct the error) is to complete a Full UI Reset.
It involves renaming some folders so that your game recreates fresh ones and once complete there should be zero addons installed and the UI should be completely stock.
It’s not the same as any console command either. Follow the steps linked (simply rename 3 folders) and see if the LUA message continues.
That’s so dumb. Turn off addons, get error, get told I need to turn them off harder, realise I don’t even use an addon that interacts with or changes the mailbox.
Game needs to be fixed, it’s been getting worse recently.
Just because it happens when you access the mailbox, doesn’t mean those two things have to be connected.
Did you try the Full Ui Reset?
Blizzard doesn’t write the addons, they are written by 3rd party development groups.
What people are giving you are “work arounds”. It’s standard practice for IT groups to get around a problem until it is fixed.
Did you try updating your Addons?
Did you try reading? I got the error with no addons.
It was already explained that disabling the addon while troubleshooting may not fix the particular error. A UI reset takes 5 minutes. Go try it instead of rejecting the troubleshooting advice people are giving you.
However, if you’re just here to complain and not actually fix things, go ahead and update your OP to state as much so people dont make the mistake of trying to help you.

If you get Lua errors with no addons, you can try to reset your UI or report it as a bug if that doesn’t work.
