Just went to log in for raid on my server that hasn’t had layers or a queue for well over a month and got put into a 45 minute queue. Thanks Blizzard.
Guild name checks out
Who would have thought I’d jump on a TD created thread but really wtf. Skeram has been off 1 layer for a while now and we are suddenly thrown in a queue today? Ok.
Wouldn’t surprise me if Blizzard lowered the server cap to force people to see the free transfers.
Same here - Stalagg hasn’t had queues for like a month…and suddenly I’m in an hour queue after work. Our server is like 80% horde and I’m alliance…so no surprise I’d much prefer the queue to be for the overpopulated faction!
What’s even more frustrating is that we (alliance on stalagg) don’t even have a choice to transfer. If you open it, it tells you that transfers are restricted. Not to either of the options, but FROM our server and faction. Queue? Tough. Sit and wait even though you’re hugely outnumbered.
That is really messed up
They may have reduced the capacity, but at least on herod, I can’t remember org ever being this crowded.

This is simple… a lot of players hit 60 and quit till ranking came out. Since it was only really mentioned here on the forums that p2 is thursday a lot of people came back today.
They can force a queue all they want. Probability of credit card charge backs is increasing each day.
After several weeks of things going really smoothly they tighten the valves and force queues? The hell?
I’m fine with them adding a queue to try to entice people to transfer, but there should have been a warning they were doing it, especially because it’s on the most popular raid day. It should also be faction specific, our server is 25/75 Horde favored and Alliance can’t even transfer off.
Just give them some time to get things worked out. All anyone is doing is speculating right now and jumping to conclusions.
Edited to add: Perfect example: One person speculates:
Which then leads to:
And then:
Seriously all, relax and give it time to see what they are doing instead of jumping to conclusions.
Or a buncha people logged in for P2 thinking it was today?
Who is really that dumb to think it was today? Besides idiots who didn’t BOTHER to read plain English?
If you read the forums from today you will see many people thinking it was today. I replied in a few threads posting the sticky at the top of the forums that it was Thursday, not today. Look in the “key ring” threads specifically. There were a number of them.
Could be both, really.
I don’t think it was anything as sinister as trying to force transfers. It was assumed by some of us that when they started phase 2 and removed layering, they would also drop the max capacity to be more like vanilla-sized realms.
They never explicitly said they would do that, but I think they did mention having servers be closer to vanilla size later on.
That is exactly the way it should have been from the beginning on lopsided realms. That said, they should be using faction ratio queues, so the lower faction, while not able to transfer, can still play the game.
Considering most updates over WoW’s history have been on Tuesday’s why would most people not assume it was today? I mean I stay on these forums a ton and I didn’t actually read to see what day it was. Not that I care because I’m working anyways, but at best most probably just skimmed over it if they even read it to begin with.
Not to mention most have never used the forums.
Yes, but that’s a combined result. Either I get priority queue because I’m the heavy minority, OR I get the option to transfer like everyone else. I get not wanting to make the server even more lopsided, but making me sit in queue when the other side at least has the choice to swap? That’s bull.
