How are you realistically supposed to unlock lower tier appearance sets if you already have a mythic set? Rolling on LFR pieces is actually impossible. Am I really supposed to be time gated for 9 weeks to turn +2 dungeon gear into tier just for mog? Wtf? These sets should unlock the lower variants automatically.

You should be able to choose what color you want then have Mythic raid/Elite PvP sets have an extra special effect to them.
But, that would mean people can get the transmog they want and Blizzard is strictly against that.

The restriction of 6 charges on catalyst is dumb

Lots of unintended consequences with the loot changing from personal loot.
Make an alt.
If you’re dead set on getting the LFR transmog now, do a full clear of LFR and roll on what you can, and then be sure to check the vault as well.
Forgot to add: Do this on an undergeared alt, they only want undergeared characters in LFR

Absolutely ridiculous new rule. The appearance should just unlock when you obtain a higher tier version of it. At LEAST for LFR gear.

It is ridiculous but be honest, were you gonna use the LFR tint?
Oh, I think it’s garbage, the people who get rewarded in LFR are the ones who don’t deserve it, and actually going in and following mechanics, keeping the team alive, and carrying everyone to victory gets you absolutely nothing but “the experience” but it isn’t my system.
I haven’t joined LFR much this expansion because of it. No reason I should have to suffer through 10 stacks of determination because 2/3’s of the raid group is throwing. And then I can’t even roll for transmog? Hard pass.
I actually do like the green LFR tint for my warlock and monk. But LFR tint can be a hit or a miss from raid to raid.
I had this problem in Shadowlands to a degree. I was timing +25 keys and Mythic raiding during the seasons, but still farmed LFR, Normal, and Heroic PUGs to get xMogs. It was very hard to roll on gear since I’m pretty sure the system prioritizes people who have low performance and low gear. Needless to say, the majority of my raid xmogs in lower tiers came from other players hooking me up to complete my xmog. Every now and then I’d get a piece and keep it, and loads of people in the raid would rage. Most of the time didn’t matter, but a couple of times I got vote kicked for keeping my mogs lol. Helping low lvl players while farming mogs is pretty dumb sometimes. They want you to do 90% of the healing and 10% of the DPS, and still give all the loot to bads, afkers and randoms.
The time commitment is the worst though, sitting through sluggish raids w/ people barely hanging on by a thread to grasp even normal mode… I hate it. We should be awarded all lower tier appearances if we collect the highest tier, OR have a token mog option.
What progress? To get into LFR, the only work you have to put in is just leveling the character. Which…let’s be honest…if you’re into transmog you probably should have done long ago anyway.
That’s completely beside the point that the system is terrible. I shouldn’t have to spend time playing characters I don’t want to play in order to earn things on the character I want to play.

Spamming +2 to +4s and using catalyst charges. Don’t go higher because then your vault will have 389s which converts to the normal set.
Having alts that only run LFR so your vault for raid loot is only LFR. Create a new alt and only farm specific bosses once you only have a few pieces left, so your vault is only loot from those bosses.
LFR has ironically become the most time consuming to unlock out of all the tints. The base version of Primalist gear could have been converted to LFR pieces, since you can convert the upgraded pieces to Normal & Heroic tier.
you’re not restricted to 6 charges, you’re only able to have 6 charges at any time but you get more each week if you use it.
