Here’s what I have from looking glass:

I have a feeling it is something going on with Blizzard’s end because the main problem node seems to be 137.221.83.86 which is owned by Blizzard and that is where the majority of the packet loss is.

That node is set up to ignore some ICMP traffic, which is what this test uses. This is a protection mechanism so the servers don’t go down with every DDoS attempt.

The looking glass is best used if you cannot login to the game or bnet. Instead, you’d want to run the WinMTR suggested at the top of the forum:

Overall, the tests look fine route-wise, but the 100% packet loss test when Blizzard tried to ping you might be a concern. The WinMTR will tell more.

Thanks for your help by the way. As far as debugging goes, This has been happening for a couple of weeks now. One thing I noticed is that the root of the problem is me blinking around.

A little background: The last few weeks I’ve stepped out at Heroic Sludgefist because I blink around in that room. I realized that it might be relevant that it only happens in there because as soon as I stepped outside the blinking stopped. It also stopped once Sludgefist was dead. It was frustrating because the first two weeks I just left for the rest of the night.

You’re probably looking at a performance issue rather than connection. There are no issues happening in the WinMTR.

So what kind of troubleshooting should I do on that front?

How does my hardware performance affect things in sludgefist’s room from a “blink around” perspective?

Possible causes are add-ons triggering in that room, weakauras, missing game assets (scan and repair may help). Sometimes a full UI can help, as well.

Some connection problems don’t show up in the WinMTR because they are specific to the home network, but you would be blinking around in all zones, not just that room. Plus, that room has three different phases, that’s why I think it’s UI related.

I’ll run a scan & repair. I’ve run one recently, but I’ll do it again.

It only happens on the Sludgefist phase is the odd thing to me.

It happens even with all addons disabled.

Disabling addons only prevents them from showing on the screen. Try renaming the addon folder for testing that.

Renaming addon folder did not work.

Try renaming the Interface and WTF folders and deleting the Cache folder.

Quite honestly, the MTR he ran probably didn’t run long enough to show intermittent packet loss. Try running it longer 20-30 mins.

That data would be saturated and not useful if you run it that long in one go.
