Going into my 4th game in a row now where I am up 3 or 4 rounds won and the other healer just leaves. Really starting to get over it. I am starting to let the other healer win a round if I am going 3/0 and they haven’t won a game.
The penalty for leaving is not high enough. Most healers at low mmr are just farming conquest tokins for their alts so leaving a game is no consequence for them.
Like I get it. Healing is so, so brutal atm. Damage is insanely high and some game losses are not even your fault. I get it. But cmon just stay in the game. You might lose the first 3 rounds but win the next 3?
Sometimes it’s the dps that’s also 0-3 after the third round tossing the blame to the healer. Literally the best time to leave so you screw the trash talker the hardest. Also the penalty is really nothing to healers. You get the cr back in no time with instant queue.
not exclusive to healers

I don’t understand why you’re even allowed to leave before all rounds conclude. What pressing in-game matter theoretically exists that would need immediate attention and is more important that the 5 other peoples time in the lobby that you committed to? If there isn’t one then leaving early shouldn’t be possible.

How would you propose stopping people from leaving the game? Disable the escape key? Alt+f4? Train a large dog to guard their ethernet cable and modem/router from tampering while in solo shuffle?

Wait what? I am talking about not being able to remove your character from the lobby not preventing people from doing anything irl lol. Kinda like how you couldn’t exit a flight path that was in progress.
If someone wants to give up nothing can prevent that, but what we can do is not allow them to throw everyone else’s progress out the window.
So when you’re criticizing “allowing players to leave”, you mean you’d prefer to have their character idly remain in the match so each round can still complete?
Correct. Look at the original poster for example. He was on his way to a 6-0 and the other healer left to prevent that. If they were forced to remain in the lobby then:
- They would be more likely to play it out just knowing they had to be there anyway and they would at least have a chance of avoiding the 0-6.
- If they just stood there idly then the 0-6 happens just as it was likely going to anyway (hence why they stopped playing).
tbh they ought to just lock your character in to be a target dummy, dc, afk, or otherwise. I still think that is a better option than ending the match.

Personally, I think it’d be worse for the remaining players to have to suffer through the AFK rounds. Seems like that’s just beating around the bush, and if the goal is to minimize impact on the remaining players, it’s less time wasted to just call every round with the AFK player a loss. In regards to inconveniencing the leaver player to try and encourage playing the match through to the end, they’re already receiving queue penalties where they have to wait an increasing amount of time before re-queuing, and clearly that wasn’t enough to stop them. Does holding the character in an arena instance really do much more on top of that? I’d personally just log into a different character or play/watch something else, as I’m sure many already do.
The problem is everyone’s time is already wasted. If dudebro was doomed to go 0-6 than let him, but give everyone full mmr/cr gains instead of disproportionately punishing the players who had to endure the anchor’s rounds already.
if there’s a leaver, whoever is meant to be on the last rounds, all get their CR’s on however rounds left are paid by the leaver.
Basically if there’s a leaver, none of the other 5 should get negative. 0 sure for the 5th and maybe 4th, but not negative CR.

Low MMR games, meaning under 2200 at the end the of season are full of W keying morons, if you’re not the meta healer you almost always lose, it’s quite tiring but I never leave.
Sure, but we could do that without having everyone suffer through those doomed rounds. It can be automatically calculated, the match end immediately, then everyone except the leaver could go next.
Yeah i agree that could work, but then again you might have some sweatbag arguing he can win the 2v3 let them play it out.
