LOW MMR Blitz map restrictions AB & Deep Wind

low MMR should not get DEEP WIND GEORGE and ARATHI BASING. These 2 maps should be 2k MMR PLUS and that’s being generous.

It’s too hard for noobs. They don’t know when to hit nodes or cap a base.

The worst kind of players are the ones that runs straight to Blacksmith or market and ignore the side nodes. That’s a instant loss and wasted time queueing. Maybe lost LP if you low CR and just hard stuck.

There’s a timer on the side that tells you what nodes are available next they can’t read the timer. They’ll try to fight and recap the node instead of going for the next available. IT’s CRAZY

those maps are too hard for noobs.

LOW MMRs maps should just be simple ones like
Warsong
Twin peaks
Temple of kotmogu
Gilneas
Deephaul Ravine

I can’t even put Silvershard mine and eye of the storm in there in there because it’s too hard.

I don’t think limiting BGs based on player intellect is a good idea, because if you do that based on player behaviour, it means every single BG would be restricted.

I still think before someone queues blitz, blizzard could add a “introduction” instanced mode with bots for every bg in the blitz rotation.

A better solution would be to implement unrated BG Blitz for increased honor rewards from 70-79.

Or, just wait a couple months and everyone will be familiar with the new rules.

Blitz has been playable for almost a year now.

Some people only recently learned that it allows Duo’s.

The only maps that should be available pre-2k is CTF maps.

I personally think it is more of a design thing than player thing. The maps are really large, even with the increased movement speed it takes some time to get to the next node. Which I think kinda pushes players towards a mentally of fighting at a single node instead of rotating around quadrants of the map.

For example, if you stay at ruins until it caps over, then push shrine to help someone there, you only get like 5-10 seconds before you need to turn back around to recap ruins. So why even bother when it can potentially lose a node you control? Same goes for the teamfights, players get wrapped up into fighting and then when they see they have 20 seconds to go to the next node they just commit to teamfight since they won’t make it across the map.

Deepwind and Arathi just need to have nodes disabled or something.

They’re too big for 8 players on each team.

all of these maps can be screwed up by play as well. As I’ve said before… Most people “especially in the lower MMR” are expecting others to do the obj while they do whatever they would normally do in a random bg… like fight mid, or whatever they like to do.

I’ve qued many of these maps where people pretty much ran to mid and stayed there all game. or never picked up orbs, or even went for orb carriers because they would die trying and being dead is no way to pad your stats. I’m sure you guys have seen this too.

The amount of MWs and people who don’t know how to deal with MWs would be even worse than que’n every other map, tbh. As is, lower MMR CTF games feel impossible to win if your team doesn’t have a MW on it. if we only que’d those, it would become a dampening nightmare… imo.

I should also note… that none of this fixes the problem… it only moves the problem to a different MMR. you get to 2K, or whatever you think it should be, and you’ll see the same problem. … idk, though… maybe at a higher rating it’s easier for people to swallow though?

Having nodes disabled would just make it Gilneas though, wouldn’t it? I find blitz Gilneas to be kinda boring compared to AB/DW. With 5 notes people are a lot more spread apart and it makes for some interesting small skirmishes and 1vX fights.

Oh yeah I love having another mode ruined by druids and rogues

kotmogu on the list when most of the people I’ve seen are allergic to orbs and they don’t take them…
