Help! I’m level 90, first true play through, the level 113 on my account was a boost. So this is my first true play through of the game and my items are around the levels of 120. How are people, who are also level 90, have item levels of 200+, 300+. It makes no sense. I do barely any damage. Help please!
Just keep moving forward. Quests should give you enough gear to keep leveling. TBH, iLvl is almost irrelevant until max level.
For prespective: ilvl 180 is where you start 110’s. No level 90 player could have that high of an ilvl.
Has the perspective of damage changed over the years? You’ll look on YouTube and see people doing like 40k damage a hit
This is pretty much impossible. They don’t. 300 ilvl isn’t available till your 120. There are only a few legendary items above 200 available at 110 (not before, at 110).
Not sure where your seeing this, but its simply not possible.
120-130 is the right ilvl for people at 90.
Yes. Those Vids are likely old. Blizz has done a couple of squishes in the last couple of xpacs. They did a Stat squish first which reduced the number of stats you got per item level and then later they did an Item level squish to reduce the overall number of item levels. The vids you are watching are most likely from before those squishes happened.

Took a look at your gear Cance - seems like you blew through Mists of Pandaria without picking up some upgrades, which is totally fine dude: leveling goes by pretty fast so you’ll be ok. Warlords content is a bit of a loot piñata in some ways, and with the gear you can get having a chance to go blue or purple, even better. Since you’re playing that content for the first time, just quest as normal, if you see rares around, give them a try, most drop decent loot.
