Like the title says, im having really low fps with a 1660ti. Ive tried several things like shutting off addons and lowering certain things. currently I just play at level 2 because its the only option that has smooth fps…
For reference, I can play basically any game out at max settings and get 60+fps at 1080p… The new Call of duty I play at max 1440p and its smooth as butter.
what could the problem possibly be?
Post a dxdiag report. It could be CPU related,as wow is very CPU dependednt. It could be any number of things - but there’s no information to use in your post.
my cpu is an i7 9750H
I have a desktop that has an i5 4690k thats OC to 4.4ghz and a r9 390 runs classic at max just fine. it even has 8gbs less ram and its ddr3.
idk how to do a “dxdiag” report ill have to google that and get back to you.

Cpu- i7 4790k at 4gz
Motherboard - sabertooth z97 mark 2
Ram- ddr3 16g
Gpu - sli gtx 970
1440p gsync monitor at 144hz
Standard hard drive at 7200rpm
Liquid cooled for cpu
My hardware is little old. Normally I have no problem with playing any activity in open world or dungeon. I stay at fairly steady fps average at 60-70 on high setting, or 7-9 preset.
My biggest problem is when I fight world bosses where 25 to 40 people show up. My fps drop in half and stay around 30ish. Once fight is done, and every one leaves area it shoots up to normal fps. I try everything form updating drivers and even putting on lowest setting. I’m out of ideas what I can do to fix this issue.
so youre basically running on a single 970 since classic doesnt support SLI and an older gpu/cpu and getting way way better frame rates than me lol
I fixed it, I had to force settings in nvidia 3d settings…
sitting at 260 fps at max now…
I end up fixing it. I found a blue post by blizzard saying that newest video card driver made a bug in setting where it removed directx 12 option. I went back to 441.41 nvidia driver and I made my fps run way smoother and more stable.
I also have been having HORRIBLE lag, slowness and timing out issues. I did what Grody did, went back and installed the 441.41 nvidia driver and everything is much faster now.
It’s a lot better, but I still occasionally get some fps dips. Seems to happen when there is many spells going off.
