Since 11.0 launched I have been getting really low fps compared to what I had in 10.x, sub 30 fps in some cases. I did the usual, update drivers, make sure refresh rate wasn’t set to something strange, make sure fps wasn’t capped. To no avail, so I am hoping some one here might have an idea what might be the issue. In game setting are the optimized ones from Geforce Experience
System Specs
Alienware X16 R2
Intel Core Ultra 9 185H
RTX 4090 Mobile

Game DErive (D:) 4tb nvme SSD
With a laptop you could be overheating, the core ultra chip could have the same stability issues as 13th and 14th gen intels. It could not be swapping to the 4090 correctly.
Post a dxdiag, following the directions in the blue posts at the top, and check to see if wow is set to your 4090 or to auto for the graphics card inside of the wow settings.
It’s not overheating, it sits around 80c, and the 13/14 gen issues were desktop only, the laptop 13/14 didn’t have the and no reports of it on meteor lake. Double checked it set to 4090 and not the Arc iGPU.
Thinking about your comment maybe GeForce Experience I played around with setting and if I drop it to a preset o 5 I can get a decent fps, which makes zero sense given the system.
So I figured I’d test out other games (maybe a windows update hosed something)
BG3 - Same as it was
Cyberpunk - Same
Avatar Frontiers of Pandor - Same.
Then ran 3D Mark and compared with my old results they are within 3% of each other so that’s all normal.
So frustrating. I am getting lower fps at 1440p with this than my roommate is getting at 1440p (if we use same settings) on his i5 13500f / A770
Wondering if a wipe of it and reinstall might help maybe some dll is an artifact somewhere
