Step 1: Turn off wow
Step 2: Get a part time job for the 15-20 hours a week you’d be playing wow
Step 3: In 4-6 weeks go buy a gaming PC. Quit said part time job or don’t quit and keep buying expensive things cause u can now.
Kinda lame Blizzard has banned all cloud gaming, especially during the GPU shortage, you’re just out of luck until you get a new machine until Blizzard reverts their stance on cloud gaming. The machine you have now may “run” world of warcraft but it won’t do it well, no real fix about it, your cpu was not designed to render graphics.
While I am not going to jump to any assumptions onto why you won’t invest into a decent PC, though you really should…
Best you can is make sure nothing else is running on the background, such as skype/browser/torrent/etc.
This might help a little.
All the addons you really need are:
Get a SSD. That was the biggest bang for the buck upgrade
I play on a surface pro 3, Not the best and you do lag(a little bit) during heavy group fights like raids but other than that it can run shadowlands fine with the right settings. though you will have to dedicate the entire system to wow so you can’t have other games on it.
I feel for you. Having an awful pc is the worst when you’re trying to game. I personally maxed out a couple small credit cards getting parts together to build a decent machine to play on, because I could no longer stand trying to stutter along on a potato. I probably wouldn’t admit that to people in real life, as I feel a little pathetic for doing it. But as we all know, people here in the forums are never judgmental in the slightest… so I know I can trust all you guys with my shame.
In most cases yes.
In OPs case, no.
Play with your graphics settings. It makes a note in the tooltip was is drastic to your pc performance so fiddle with those [lower 'em]
I have a 5 or so yr old notebook and ya SL runs crummy but I can tolerate it.
Other wise update the pc by putting away some $$ into even the modern day equivalent of the average pc.
No other work around. SL is hard sometimes on the graphic card this time around so Blizz has tried to work on making the game a tad more efficient. But it’s a tall order for that spaghetti code and what they try to develop.
Me reading the title: “But how low?”
clicks
First, don’t install any addons I mean you could use SMALL addons if you wanted that don’t do much but UI replacement addons? DBM? Damage meters? No. Don’t run anything else while playing wow, not one program should be open in the background. Put your settings down to 1 and that’s about all I can offer bud. Save up some money and build a new system this coming black friday or do what Lips said
will do! thanks for being nice about it! Looking for deals as we speak, soon more to come with Christmas I’d imagine.
