Just found out I can no longer use my Lovely Dresses, the ones with green text and not with white text. I keep getting told “You already have that appearance.” It’s the same on the Dinner Suits, Spring Circlets, Spring Robes. They were fine during the last Trial of Style.
Anyone else having the same issue? I tried to search forums to see if anyone else noticed. Is it because of the skimpiness of the Lovely Dresses and Spring Robes?

In all seriousness, it seems they have done this with all cosmetic items. I received some cosmetic items on an alt in Shadowlands and once I ‘learned’ the item it disappeared from my inventory. I think there should be a fix on these items, especially the holiday items for the role players and Trial of Style players out there.
Not all cosmetic items were affected. Can still use my Brewfest Regalia and Elegant Dress and the Winter Clothes that I know you love so much. 
Oh Garland of Grain was affected as well.
I pity the fool who made these changes…
No, now those items require the holiday from which they come from to continue to use them.
But not all of them are affected, just certain holiday cosmetics. And they were usable during the last Trial of Style. I know I’m not the only one who collects these on various toons just so they can be used year round. And it sucks for those who enjoyed being able to use these year round.

I hope they don’t plan to do this to the rest of the holiday cosmetics.
They did it with a lot of them, BUT if you have the original item, you can still equip it like a piece of gear.
I have an alt mage that has bunny ears and a spring basket, and I use a gear switcher when I’m in town to equip them.
Wow. I have a really classy date tonight, an attractive gentleman is taking me out for dinner in Silvermoon City, and I was going to wear my favorite Lovely Purple Dress for the occasion. Looks like Blizzard felt compelled to take that away from me for no reason. I wish they’d spent their time and energy adding things to the game instead of making them off-limits. I don’t even play Shadowlands, all I want is to live my life in Silvermoon City, and they keep scr*wing with me. Blizzard, why do you hate the RolePlayers so much? We pay our subs too…
Except they still have the OG common ones? I know, I searched them on WRA when I saw this and peeked at my stash my bank alt has hoarded away. They had some of each color listed. You can’t mog them but they’re still there.
So I just logged on to check this as well. I got the Halloween stuff from our most recent holiday, and picked up the “Hallowed Helm”. It’s true, though. When I go to right click it, it says “You already have that appearance” and nothing happens. It didn’t get removed from my inventory though, so maybe that’s just certain items.
However, I WAS able to drag and drop the Hallowed Helm onto my head piece, and that equipped it for me. So for those seeing that same message, please give that a try if you still have the item in your inventory.
I also see on the Hallowed Helm, that there’s a new added line:
“Use: Add this appearance to your collection.”
So maybe it’s just because they added that, and it treats it like a toy or something else and isn’t automatically equipped?
