Love the PvP blue post, but should it be more

I have a feeling damage reduction should be a bit higher, honestly 50 percent felt pretty good if healing wasnt so strong. We will see though, so glad blizzard is making an effort in this space, incredibly grateful as a SoD PvPer, I thought we wouldnt get anything. Pretty impressive they are able to receive and action feedback like this

They should be fixing the overpowered specs instead of screwing around with this DR aura. Play a mage in PvP with the 50% dr aura and tell me its good.

That’s fair, I think SOME casters(warlocks and maybe mages) had a tough time with the 50 percent aura. I imagine warlock dots didnt feel too great either.

Also though, mages not dying instantly felt like it made yalls roots and blinks ALOT more powerful, I got kited pretty darn hard by mages last weekend.

To address your first point about them fixing overpowered specs. I think that just takes too much development time, too many new abilities, and it hurts the pve’rs fun, which is a line us pvpers shouldnt try to cross. In a perfect world, yes absolutely fix all the spells that are overtuned, perfectly balance the game etc. 20 years of this game have taught me though, this is borderline impossible

The problem is that the DR aura, while seemingly a easy fix, actually creates a whole new mess of issues.

For example Mages, and some other specs, do not have sufficient resource regeneration to function in the DR meta. So how do you fix that problem without increasing their resource regen in PvE and rebalancing that as well ?

You end up having the exact same problems of balancing PvE and PvP as you did before, except you have this obtuse, unintuitive DR system thats also sucking up development time on top of it.

This is a great point, I hadn’t put much thought intothe damage reduction/resource correlation. This probably kills classes that have mana regen problems.

My fix to that would probably be to just give these classes near unlimited mana regen, or high mana regen. Lets be adventerous here in SoD, try things wow hasnt tried yet, or at least not be scared to take risks…

Great point though

Thanks. I do understand why some people liked the DR aura, as it made some classes function better but I think the better approach would be to wait and rebalance the classes/runes at lvl 60 before we mess around with a DR aura.

Same for rogues… spend all energy to reduce the life of a cloth user to 70%… not cool :frowning:

We probably disagree here, because I think the damage reduction is NECESSARY. All these new Sod abilities have just added too much damage for a game that was already balanced on a knifes edge. There is no going back imo, no ammount of tuning will fix every class having 6 new abilities

how do i dowevote something on this website

I think you just come in here, and voice your opinion brother, maybe explain why etc

So you can get carried by heals? How about no.
