Could this be another threat to WoW? They are about release a completely revamped starting experience. Tons of people are playing it now probably waiting for DF to release. It’s great to get an expansion for WoW but the first patch is always lacking. I could see a lot of people switching back to LOTRO due to lack of content in the release version of DF.

Just checked the game’s Steam stats. The highest concurrent average player count in the last decade was 1,451 on steam…and that was in 2012.

man i got the early access like what… 2 years ago? still nothing interesting happened there. still locked at level 4 and still a lot of classes missing. still only act1.
that game will be my lesson when it comes to early access games… think twice lol

I could complain for hours about BG3, but I’ll spare everyone my sperging.
I haven’t tried it yet so my only issue so far is that it feels like a pretty bald-faced attempt to parlay off the popularity/nostalgia of the first two.
I could be wrong but I have a hard time seeing how it could be a natural successor to them considering they were entirely around a single character rising to become the Lord of Murder (or not if you were some sort of weirdo).

I loved the player vs. monsters aspect of PvP in LOTRO being in a warg pack hunting down players and I loved shredding Metallica songs on my players instruments, but If there is no graphics update I just don’t see myself coming back to it.

I was actually excited about Amazon making a new LOTR MMO before they cancelled it until New World and Rings of Power came out now all hope for the IP for me is gone.
