So if you enable captions. It says. Deeper than you know a foul craft Saruman has crossed Orcs with gummed in men he’s breeding an army in the caverns of Isenguard.
What exactly was Saruman breeding Orcs with?
Also what do you guys think about the us getting a legendary called the One Ring. That lasts forever! For each of our races. One we never have to replace come any expansion. Always BIS! But it works a little bit differently, depending on the racial.
Wonder if we’d get cross-breeds in Wow too. So like at the character screen, you pick. Say, 25% Orc, 50% Goblin and 25% Tauren. xD
Damn. ALREADY? But its not BIS. Should make it BIS for all! That’s one slot I never have to change after that. Season after season, expansion and expansion!
Back in WoD our legendaries were actually partly based off of Lord of the Rings. Everyone got a legendary ring that varied depending on their role, and any member of the group could activate their ring to temporarily empower the rings of all group members in the same role. It was intended to call back to magical rings which share a connection to one another, much like the rings of power that Sauron had made for the other races.
There’s female orcs, but I believe that the orcs are made from corrupted elves, cause if they made from corpses alone, then there would not be many orcs.
WAT?!
I’ve never heard of this and i’ve been a LOTR nerd for years.
Specifically orcs were made by Morgoth (big crazy baddy of LOTR) in a twisted visage of the elves cuz he hated the elves.
They were the exact opposite of elves.
It’s been a while since I read the Sillymarillion, but I seem to remember the orcs having been created by Melkor/Morgoth from elves like way early in the stupidly-long timeline of middle earth. Like, prior to them having migrated west to Valinor/Aman/whatever the first time.
Really good series for the first 4 books, I think, and then it starts to drag, unfortunately. I haven’t read any of them in ages though, so I may be misremembering.
Yeah, for sure. When you get a bit deeper I’d be interested to hear your thoughts. Wondering if it’d be worth investing the time into re-reading them all.
ah, why re-read anything. World already have more really good books than you’d be able to read in you entire life. Just keep reading new things. I would sell my soul to re-read Terry Pratchett 40 books, but i also want to read something that i’ve never read before.
The films are rather faithful to the original works, but the whole goblin/Orc/Uruk-hai is one thing that was a bit off. Tolkien called them “goblins” in his earlier works, but had moved on to “orcs” by the time LOTR was done. They’re the same creature. Uruk directly translates to orc. Uruk-hai just means orc folk. They were bigger and stronger than regular orcs, but nowhere near as big as they were portrayed on film.
In the book, it’s never explicitly said what Saruman uses to make his specific breed of Uruk-hai. There were hints that it was by crossing orcs with men from Dunland. Whatever the line in the movie is, it’s a liberty.
edit that wasn’t meant to be a direct reply to you, sorry
