I recently moved and can not find my authenticator, what should I do?

Open a ticket, and contact customer support. They can help you transition to the digital/mobile app authenticator and other security and account features. You’ll have to verify all your information on your account.

You can open a ticket to remove it. Keep in mind you’ll likely need a copy of your ID to submit to get it removed.

This should be the correct ticket option:

That is the #1 reason I never attached an authenticator/app authenticator. I’m 55 now and just too much can go wrong!

I was “haxxored” once, fixed it and Blizzard restored my stuff (as they should have.) The one time I was it was the early days of “wowhead”, with them letting through some kind of “script” ad that recorded keystrokes somehow.

Me logging on “kicked off” the person who was in the middle of selling my gear to a Vendor in the Highlands, making it pretty obvious to me what was going on, so I changed my email and password (after cleaning things up and making sure nothing was running to log anything) and then put in a ticket for a restore.

I was very surprised to find that when I woke up the next morning, Blizzard had restored everything

Since then I’ve been way more careful, using “Noscript” and “Ghostery” and such; plus Wowhead got more “professional” so it is way less likely anyway.

Blizz is great with restorations  I got hacked as well in the past and have a similar experience with Blizz restoring everything. Though I do have an authenticator now :]
