Losing Trust level

Outside of being actioned – since I haven’t received any notifications about it – how else can we lose trust levels? I posted a GIF on Saturday morning and then by Saturday night I could no longer post links.

Sad times.

you have to maintain a crazy monthly quota of read posts

Sorry to hear, OP. There’s also a bug where some people can’t reliably post on the forums because it’ll say something like they need a level 10 character, when they do have toons well above level 10. It renders the trust system even more of a joke.

Yeah, I’ve seen it discussed. You have to read a ton of threads per day, and give out and receive certain numbers of likes? That could just be give out, I can’t recall. I generally only do the forums when I have down time at work, so it will never be me. If I can be playing I won’t be here. :slightly_smiling_face:

You have to be active enough to keep tl3, you can take a day or two off a week from posting and it won’t drop.

You can also ask in the CS forum where you’re at in re-earning TL3. Our trusty Centaur and Panda have been nice enough to let people know what they need to do.

Trust level feels totally random so I don’t bother posting in TL3 lounge, I will get into a good convo and then be unable to reply for 100 days LOL

I think you have to maintain a certain number of posts read, likes received, likes given, and daily visits? And it’s on a 100 day cycle or something like that, and you have to log in 50 days of the past 100 days, or something?

I have received it and lost it many times, so I wasn’t sure if I was eligible. One day I just sat there hard core farming “posts read” in the bigger Lounge threads, and I was able to get level 3. Now I try to maintain it a bit. I’m more liberal with my likes. I check the forums once a day. Every now and then I will grind some long thread for the post count.

All to post funny little pictures

It shouldn’t be a secondary job just to post some stupid pics.

I had TL3 at one point but I honestly never took advantage. I can post enough GIFS in various guild chats to keep the referential aspect of my “wit” sated. :upside_down_face:

you can decay out. TL3 requires you to maintain a pretty high level of activity.

That must’ve been it. I don’t browse at work anymore because I’m rarely at my desk these days.

In terms of posting gifs/pics/links there used to be a way around the trust level issue where by using Twitter you could link a tweet of your own, and within it post w/e content you wanted which would then appear here.

This fell apart when Musk bought Twitter though. I’m not sure as to the specifics but I think it had something to do with the name change and the physical servers being relocated.

To give a random example of what I am talking about:

And no, I have never had TL3.

The funny thing is on GameFAQs they don’t have either this “10 character minimum” nonsense nor any restrictions on posting images or URLs.

And despite the obvious chaos and turmoil such freedom would surely cause, the site works…

Just fine.

I lost mine for not being active enough, i have decided that it’s silly to come here more than i naturally would just so i can post links

Idk about that. I feel like I scroll a few times a week. Sometimes I skip a week or so. I think it’s more so being “active”.

I rarely read the whole thread. If it’s a few hundred posts, I definitely skip to the bottom more often than not

most forums nowadays let you post gifs. even mmo-champ does.

The grind is real, even on the forums.

You need to post almost nonstop to keep it up. And sometimes it will glitch out and set you back to lowest TL if you log out and then back in or switch posting toons even though that is not supposed to happen it still sometimes does.
